About a decade ago there was Jules Bernstein, a Jewish associate who ran a bus driver's union for the Genovese family (Ianniello crew).

During the Soviet era right? I think I watched something about that on this Netflix movie about some Russian gangster nicknamed Tarzan from NY (Former Gambino Family enforcer) and then moved once the whole 1980s Miami Cocaine boom started happening. He said lots of gangsters were Jewish or something along those lines, not sure.

Not sure if they were just claiming, my understanding is that on most of the Russian mobsters in Brooklyn arriving in the 70s and 80s were Ukrainian and Russian Jews (mainly from Odessa). After the USSR fell there was a big wave of Christian Russians and other Soviet ethnic groups into NYC.

Yes ita true and was portrayed also in Lord of War movie,the Soviet Union guaranteed expatriation to anyone who proved to be Jewish, many criminals managed to bribe officials while the most desperate even went so far as to pay doctors to be circumcised, while others did it directly at home with a knife.
Most was only people that wanted freedom but the Soviets used this for get rid of dangerous criminals like Castro did with Mariel Bay in 1980.
