It doesn’t say they have a case. It says they’re building a case. Huge difference.
They could, even likely are, building cases against Michael Mancuso, Barney Bellamo, Cefalu etc etc.
Building a case simply means investigating. With DeSantis they have Pennisi so they know where to look but they still need hard evidence: wiretaps, books, money movement, bank accounts, eyewitness etc etc

The case may take years to come to fruition, or it may never come about at all.

He was questioned over the shooting and told detectives he was made. Not sure why the Lucchese's wanted him dead it was around the time there was a lot of tension between the two families. Seems a bit extreme to try and kill a member.

I thought Terrance Caldwell shot Stagno on behalf of Mike Meldish? He was getting the Bonanno's back for the beating Ernie Aiello gave him.
