So, Crea was NOT sentenced today. There wasn't enough time because of the way the video conferencing is done, they only get a portion of time because there are other judges requesting sentencing using the video system. So, the actual sentencing won't take place for a couple of weeks - towards the end of the month IF they can get a slot.
I will be writing probably a couple of articles on some of the issues discussed today. It was 2 hours on objections and forfeiture. The government did not get all it asked for in forfeiture -- quite a bit actually that the government didn't allow. I have to look at my notes - I have two novels of notes here. But there will be hearings - both the govt and defense can request hearings. It was principal on Silverstein loan, interest and then alleged Datello payments to Crea.
I'll speak about a lot of different things when I record the podcast. Lots of ridiculousness of course. And also want to verify the facts from what the government presented. There was a lot of "I think they meant" verbiage from the government without actually providing the actual statements/recordings wording from trial or probation in regards to the presentencing report. So, whatever media reports on that will probably just consist of what the govt says without verifying that those statements referred to are actually accurate. I'm sure it was done on purpose.
So that's all for now.

Also, the judge made an interesting comment about "wording" because a lot of objections on PSR are over wording and at one point she actually said that wording makes a difference. It was "refer" or "steer" in regards to something - don't want to go into length right now but she said "refer" doesn't cut it.
And the reason I bring that up is because when I talked last week here about Madonna's statement to the Court and Londonio's "declining" to speak the court which was inaccurate because he did -- someone brought up semantics and that it didn't matter. But obviously it does matter because certain phrases and words gives different impressions. So accuracy in reporting is crucial. And declining gave the wrong impression.
