Re: John riggi dead
One of the more interesting Bosses to read about. Acting Boss since 1974 and Official Boss since 1982. If we count his Acting Boss stint he was one of the longest serving Bosses in the country. Surprised he lived and was active as long as he was.
Looks like whoever "Horse" is will be the new Boss.

TommyGambino, the answer to your question on the other site is two wire taps. One is listed under Joe Miranda, who is talking to a Florida Capo and two soldiers in the family. He supports Frank who has the backing of the Gambinos, but three Capos ( one acting) in the family supports Majuri. Charlie has strong connections in Northern New Jersey with the Genovese and Lucchese crime families.

Just once I would like to read a mobster obit that told it like it was something like "John Riggi died last night, he was a gangster to the core, heading the Decav family for 20 years. Brutal when need be, smart and ruthless he lived by the code of Omerta at a time when many didn't.......blah blah blah. You read these obits and its like shit is this the right person.
In 14 years the bitch will be a real money earner, yes sir........

heh, i agree. it would be great to see something in the comments along the lines of "you were directly responsible for an untold amount of misery for decades, have fun in hell asshole!" instead of all the generic "our thoughts are with your family, rest easy" garbage!bobbybats wrote:Just once I would like to read a mobster obit that told it like it was something like "John Riggi died last night, he was a gangster to the core, heading the Decav family for 20 years. Another guy that looked like he would just about live forever. I've seen him referred to as "The Eagle". Is this a bullshit blog/wiki myth? Because simply "John" is used a lot more.

No it was an actual nickname.

Re: John riggi dead
That is correct. Riggi hasn't had hair on his head since his 20's. More than likely Charles Majuri will make a play for official boss.johnny_scootch wrote:He was bald as an 'eagle' thats where it came from.Pogo The Clown wrote:MickeyMeatballs wrote:I've seen him referred to as "The Eagle".
