Although the author didn't mention this...Valpo is not considered NW Indiana. It's about a 2 hour drive from Cal City and I'm talking with traffic...might even be longer depending on the time of day. Route 30 is a bitch starting at the Indiana border at least until you get past the mall.

Not trying to be a dick, but Valparaiso is absolutely part of Northwest Indiana, and thus by definition part of the Chicago metro area. All of Porter County is. Can't imagine what definition of Northwest Indy wouldn't include it.

I don't know where you live, but I'm in the south suburbs and we do not consider Valpo part of NW Indiana...we'll give it until Merrillville/Crown Point but after that no dice.

In fact to be fair...people who live on the north side consider the south suburbs hillbilly country and the people in the south suburbs consider all of NW Indiana (including those who moved from here to there of which I have many family members and even lived there for a short time myself) hillbillies...so that's my take.

The outfits response was to a close friend of the families(his brothers was the whistle blower but revenge was tAking on the least involved brother). It was a huge scandal tho the IMI brothers all did prison time.

Okay.....I'm just giving you guys the perspective of a south suburban girl...okay. It's not my own and I'm not the only one... i did look it up and see the towns listed. Surprised to see Chesterton in there but whatever. Another great town...they used to have this restaurant in an old train car.

I think the latter. A few left over guys from the old Heights crew operating on their own. Jeff Sallet (Former F.B.I. Director in Chicago) said the Outfit is running on fumes. I would tend to go with him on that subject.

I already said this long long time ago, the Indiana crew answered to the Chicago Heights faction since day one and in the end, both crews went down at the same time and they no longer exist. Whoever remained on the streets, he or they were absorbed by the Cicero and Chinatown group or the South Side mob
