Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
Lompoc is pretty serious for a fed. It’s a USP and it differs from most fed spots being that it’s in California, a lot of the California state prison politics trickle into Lompoc more so than other fed joints... obviously it’s nowhere near as racially strict as California state prisons... cali general population spots are out of control.. my friend got told a story by his older cellie when he was in la county (which is hell on earth If you’re white,it’s all racially decided and there’s like 10 Solid white guys maybe and hundreds of crips/bloods/blacks, only thing that keeps the whites alive is their alliance with the southern Mexicans, which run the whole show) anyways my buddy’s cellie was an old school white boy who was in his 50s who did multiple stretches on level 4 yards in Cali.. and he said one time a new white guy came on the yard, and he was offered a drink off a black guys chocolate milk after the black guy took a sip, the white guy being green didn’t know any better and took a sip, well the next day on the yard he was stabbed to death by 2 whites... all for drinking off another races drink!!! How fucked up is that shit?
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
It’s weird... since nicodemo got locked up, and even more recently when joe electric and piccolo both got brought down by wired up rat persiano, and they said he also got dom on tape... they’ve been talking about some huge fed, or multi agency (state and federal) take down that has was supposedly supposed to come any day now (for like the last 5 years) and wipe out the whole family since supposedly this indictment would have some of the unsolved murders... well George A. And Mayo literally talked that up every chance they could get .. literally for years... how it was in the works, only a matter of time, all this shit... well nothing has happened so far... and all of the sudden you got Anastasia and Schratswieser coming out recently and basically saying the completely opposite ... how everyone’s legit and shit.. they went from saying Borgesi was all over the streets had his hands In everything, was visiting Boston and making all sorts of moves, to now saying that he’s fully legitimate????? Who fucking knows.....
Only one thing is for certain.... if these guys are all still doing dirt (which is all most of them know) look at Merlino for Christ sakes, guys 50 something probably never had a job... eventually someone’s going to get caught... and someone’s going to start talking... those are the only certainties... that if they got shit going on.. they’re eventually going to get arrested.. and someone is going to cooperate ... that is if there already isn’t someone wired up on the street right now that leads to the arrest.... like anything George A might know a few fringe guys but not enough to know what the fucks really going on, it’s all educated guesses.... so I guess we will just have to sit back and wait...
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
I agree. I like that consenus. I also think at some level Ga and Schratweiser just dont have the contacts they used to. They just dont get first hand knowledge like Capeci. And with social media I mean its probably hard finding something new to discuss without it being stale.chubby wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 5:24 pmIt’s weird... since nicodemo got locked up, and even more recently when joe electric and piccolo both got brought down by wired up rat persiano, and they said he also got dom on tape... they’ve been talking about some huge fed, or multi agency (state and federal) take down that has was supposedly supposed to come any day now (for like the last 5 years) and wipe out the whole family since supposedly this indictment would have some of the unsolved murders... well George A. Funny because some have been claiming for years that Capeci no longer has the sources he once did. It's all speculation, of course.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 8:35 pmI agree. Yeah, you are probably right about that too. His articles once a week used to be something offbeat, distinct about OC that you would never hear from someone else. Now, its two articles quoting lawyers, Da's and one or two lines from the affidivit and then thats it. And the third is some historical context like Ask Andy or this happened on this day. Maybe some of his sources used to be really street guys and they stopped giving him intel.
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
I think part of the reason the media attention is down because they aren't running the bomb squads like they did in the 90's and 90's. Shaking down every book maker and every drug dealer is going to lead to guys calling the cops when they can't pay, guys getting shot when they can't pay, guys getting arrested because they are trying to get guys to pay. Now there is just much less to write about.
Historically, Italian organized crime was a criminal network, a "fixed bid" club so to speak, to benefit the members above everyone else. Some of the guys were straight criminals and some of the guys were butchers or grocers who liked to bet and play cards and almost everyone was varying degrees of in-between but MOST owned businesses and held jobs and worked together and the power was in the connections. The shakes served to increase violence and destabilize the entire network. It was also high risk and high attention. Guys were making livings off of shake downs, how risky is that? Maybe just below dealing drugs? Combine that with modern RICO law and modernization of society in general, the bomb squads are just a thing of the past. Extortion still exists but the guys are surrounding themselves with guys who CHOOSE to be around and are guys they know. Much more traditional and safer approach.

Clearly he doesnt due to mostly terrible articles, what does that have to do with this thread talking about GA and DS? weird post.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 8:38 pmFunny because some have been claiming for years that Capeci no longer has the sources he once did. B/C GA said he wasnt sure if he wanted to report on the philly mob anymore bc not much is happening. Maybe ir is he just isnt talking to the right ppl, possibly. I enjoy watching it, but most of his info you can find online before he reports. Not saying its right or wrong just the way it is.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 3:24 pmClearly he doesnt due to mostly terrible articles, what does that have to do with this thread talking about GA and DS? weird post.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 8:38 pmFunny because some have been claiming for years that Capeci no longer has the sources he once did. Who knows, like another poster said...since he has to come out of pocket it isnt worth it to him anymore. Still has no relevance to WG randomly bringing up his Capeci obsession....Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 7:45 pmB/C GA said he wasnt sure if he wanted to report on the philly mob anymore bc not much is happening. Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
I mean in relates to mob reporters in general. Burnstein too. Now they both have podcasts and talk about things like movies and Hoffa and a good percentage is from a historical context and they go on each other podcasts to talk about things they already discussed. Capeci doesnt do podcasts that I know of, but his weekly posts are more mundane than interesting, which they used to be. For example GL this past week-mikey spat court case, Matera court case, Frankie Loc court case. More and more of his weekly news seem to come from court related matters like appeals, trials pleas etc.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:18 pmWho knows, like another poster said...since he has to come out of pocket it isnt worth it to him anymore. Like the Campos thing, I read what he wrote. And years it ago it would of been big news and he would be breaking it. But, now he justs posts what we all knew and pointed out a few excerpts from the affidivit which we all or can read on here or on the doj website.
Reading some his stuff from early 2000s and 90s, it was real talk from the street quoting members and its like holy fuck how did he find that out
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
It wasn't random. What was said about Anastasia losing his sources exactly echoed what has been said about Capeci for yearsFughedaboutit wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:18 pmWho knows, like another poster said...since he has to come out of pocket it isnt worth it to him anymore. Everyone realizes your whole schtick is to pop up randomly in threads and say stupid things. But at least make it funny or clever. You've just become a lame, predictable bore.

Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 37
I was thinking the other day that Capeci should start a podcast. Make it a monthly thing to keep things fresh and have a segment where GL subscribers get to ask questions.
