Joe the German Watts and his release

Post by NYNighthawk »

I heard his grandchildren are running around Staten Island using his name. Totally different scenario with Bilotti's grandchildren who are keeping a low profile. Anyone hear something different?
He gets out next year. In the end of Gravano's book Gravano's co-author talks about Watts turning - any blowback on that info?
He was so tight with Gotti, Sr. that he apparently was set up in the lawyers' office to talk to Gotti at Marion over the phone and relay orders. He seemed to have more pull than most capo's which doesn't make sense. I know he did not get along with Jr. but how was he treated by the capo's soldiers in the Gambino family? Did they just put up with him because of Sr? Also any word if Lewis Kasman will do a book?

obviously not first hand knowledge....but watts was feared and respected on the streets by not only the guys he was around, but other families as well. he was a german associate who had the latitude of a captain. able to do deals with other families and go to sit downs on his own. he was/is the real deal. as far as his cooperation Ive never heard anything concrete or that seems legit but who knows. a lot of guys get rumor's spread by the less respected and jealous

Watts was a guy who would be allowed to pass messages from a made guy to another , that should show you the clout this guy had. He was basically a button guy without a button. Like a Burke , Lansky etc

Read Gravano's book and what the co-author Peter Mass wrote about Watts at the end when he hired F. Lee Bailey to represent him against Sammy. I just cant see a Vincent Gigante or Tony Salerno sitting down with a non-made guy to do a deal breaker.

Also there was a article where Junior and maybe Alite were hiding in a bathroom to clip someone high up. Someone stupid to clip and when Watts got there he was pist they even thought they'd do that and he was some sort of messenger at this point as well.

In the first post it said he might have flipped?? Did I read that right??

Also every family/boss had non made associates and non Italians around them.

Chin/Savino
Casso/Kaplan
Luciano/Lansky
Zerilli and Tocco / Henry milf (??)
Whole Chicago Outfit.
Etc etc

Am I the only person who read Gravano's book Underboss? Read the last chapter which was all about Watts and his pre-trial prep work against Sammy taking the stand against him. WTF - this is the first time anyone on the Board has heard about this?

when you say cold stone killer - how many hits did he do? He sounded like a punk when he tortured and killed that mentally ill young man who took a shot at Gotti outside of the Bergin Hunt and Fish club. He was nothing more than a scumbag for killing that guy when he knew he was semi- retarded.

+1 - basically that's what's in Gravano's book. Did F. Lee Bailey help with that proffer?
