This interview made me think of a few things.

Wikipedia I don't trust, people can type anything. But I saw this.

Was Scarfo Jr going to kill Leonetti at some point? Was it on tape and played upin the press or something? I doubt he would have killed him. It could have just been tough talk.

People post on here that Mike Perna had and has all the juice for the lukes, but Leonetti give the Taccetti's lol a shout out on this interview.

Mentioned Marty ahead of Mike then Tumac. Isn't that reverse order?

There is a lot about Scarfo Jr and Merola from Gambino

Says Jr watched Merola's stuff when he was away for extortion, I thought it used to say for drugs.

It also says when Jr got out of the can his cell was tapped, how can they get cause for that?


I remember Merola and Jr had some falling out over money maybe when Merola was away? Wiki also says Jr is a godfather to Merolas kid


Was Merola a fan of mobsters like Scarfo then realized he wasn't good?

Either way it seems that Merola getting involved with Scarfo made his life worse. Seems to have brought a lot of heat.

There was a lot of tension between Scarfo and Chuckie Merlino (Joey's dad) because at one time Chuckie was Scarfo's underboss, until Scarfo demoted him to soldier and allegedly wanted to have him killed. Apparently, Joey hated Scarfo for it and there has been bad blood between those two families ever since. Also, it might have something to do with Joey trying to kill Scarfo Jr., whom Leonetti seems to like quite a bit.

Patrick Ben David is a good interviewer just wish he delved a little deeper it seems like it's always the same boring questions, when was the first time you killed somebody etc..wish he did his homework in regards to more insightful questions. Mafia Prince is a classic and he has a million interesting stories, wished he delved a little deeper.Why not ask him about the Sammy meeting the bull just spoke about Ben David with about Scarfo calling Gotti a bum ,seems like a lot of missed opportunities.

To me, he comes off Fanboyish. His main questions, the ones that he really sat up for were the ones like, " So what kinda money we talking about?... " What's life like at this point?"...." Cars?, How much a month?"... and so on.

He seems like hes waiting for Leonetti to recount some entertainer type lifestyle or spending habits.

I think the Franzese interview spoiled him, lol.

He doesnt even really know ENOUGH about the mafia to ask compelling questions....

To Leonetti, he remembers the punk kid Joey who robbed bookies they were protecting and hid behind his dad. Plus, he shot his cousin, something I bet Phil believes he would never would have even thought if the Scarfos were on the street. He should hate Mike Chang more, he was the ringleader.

Exactly. No ones cooperated, tried to kill him, or take his spot in general. He holds a certain balance of fear and respect. The guys around him are killers too so like you said, the loyalty tells you all you need to know. People bash him and call him a jockey but he carries a ton of respect on the street and behind the walls inside and outside of his city where it counts.
