John Alite: He'll Never Admit It, But Junior Gotti Was A 'Rat' Two Years Before Me
Gang Land Exclusive!John AliteIt's been more than 11 years since John A. (Junior) Gotti beat the rap and walked out of court as a free man. But the former acting mob boss can't get over the fact that John Alite, the old pal who testified against him — calling Gotti a drug dealer and murderer — at his fourth and last trial, is also a free man after spending about eight years behind bars, Gang Land has learned.

In the years since their in-court confrontation, the once close friends have enjoyed taking pot shots at each other in competing books and online shout-outs. Alite says he's moved on. But he insists that the erstwhile Junior Don has become so obsessed with him that he fears his old pal may be headed for a breakdown. "He should take a deep breath and go see a therapist," said Alite.

Wearing his analyst hat, Alite tells Gang Land that the reason Gotti "has hounded me for years" is because the former Mafia heir, who now proclaims he is a Crime Fighter," is desperate to hide the fact that in 2005, he fingered his deceased mob boss father and two Gambino family gangsters in murders.

Junior GottiAt the time, Alite was behind bars in what he called one of the "worst prisons in the world." And while Gotti was trying to help himself with the feds and talking to them about his father, Alite insists he was working to help their mob allies in their own fights against the feds. It wasn't until two years later that he threw in the towel and decided to become a cooperator, Alite says.

"How he correlates his proffer with the feds to what I was doing in a penitentiary in Brazil back then is bizarre," said Alite. Court records and FBI documents seem to back up his claim about the timeline, as well as his own efforts to "fight the good fight" for Gambino capo Ronald (Ronnie One Arm) Trucchio, who was then awaiting trial in Florida on racketeering and murder charges.

"His proffer was a huge deal," said Alite. "They had to call D.C. He was a high ranked guy. It wasn't like that Luchese guy (John Pennisi) walking into the FBI office (in 2018.) They had to sneak him out of the jail without the guards or inmates knowing about it. This guy is so detached from reality of what he did, he wants to convince himself and he wants to convince the world."

"That was his decision," Alite continued. "If you look at the 302 (FBI document), he's the one who made the phone call. Why he's trying to blame me makes no sense. I don't know how he's not embarrassed," said Alite."He keeps calling me an informer. I was never an informer. He was; it says so on the 302. Stop!"

David Cecchetelli, Junior GottiThat was a curious statement coming from a cooperating witness, but Gang Land barely had time to reflect on it before Alite summed up his relationship with his estranged former buddy: "Whether we like it or not, we're a divorced couple, for the rest of our lives."

The catalyst for our talk with Alite was Gang Land's exclusive April 2 report on Gotti's spoken admiration for the Latin Kings and photos of him with Michael Cecchetelli, aka King Merlin, an accused leader of the violent street gang, and his uncle, mob associate David (Fat Chicky) Cecchetelli. We reached out to ask Alite about complaints from Gotti's relatives and friends that Gang Land had done Alite's bidding by writing the Gotti-Latin King story.

"They blame me for everything," said Alite, noting that Gotti "isn't man enough to complain himself" and enlists his relatives and others to do his bidding: "Did they blame the coronavirus on me?"

They didn't. But before Gang Land gets to several folks who unquestionably did do Gotti's bidding and what they say about that, we go to an unlikely source who confirms Alite's assertion that he was a true blue gangster "fighting the good fight" long after Gotti spoke to the feds on January 18, 2005: Attorney Joseph Corozzo, who represented Gambino capo Ronnie One Arm Trucchio at his 2006 trial.

"I did speak to Alite before the trial and he did give me impeachment material that I was able to use against government witnesses," said Corozzo, the noted lawyer son of Joseph (JoJo) Corozzo, the former Gambino consigliere and nephew of capo Nicholas (Little Nick) Corozzo, an old pal of the elder John Gotti who was acquitted at trial with him in 1987.

Ronald TrucchioAlite, who lost his two year extradition battle and was turned over to U.S. authorities and jailed without bail in December of 2006, a month after Trucchio was found guilty, told Gang Land that it was Corozzo who informed him that Gotti had spoken to the FBI and that the lawyer said he'd arrange for him to receive the five page document while he was still imprisoned in Brazil.

Corozzo would only say that he "never saw the 302," and did not send the document to Alite.

Among those who weighed in on Junior Gotti's behalf after Gang Land's recent story, was Chris Kasparoza, who is producing and writing, along with Gotti, what they hope will be both a TV special and book about the federal witness program they've dubbed Witsec Mafia.

Kasparoza has a website dedicated to trolling Alite, called johnalitefacts.com. In a recent 1500 word screed, Kasparoza wrote that there's no way that Alite got that 302 while he was in Brazil. He also claims to have uncovered evidence linking Alite to the 1982 murder of 19-year-old Tina Foglia, whose dismembered body was found in three garbage bags that February.

Joseph CorozzoFoglia, of Brentwood, had last been seen at Hammerheads, a rock club where notable groups like the Pretenders and Twisted Sister played back then after being booked by Alite's dad, Matthew, a longtime Gambino associate. John Alite was 19 and in Los Angeles at the time, so he would've had trouble committing the crime. But Kasparoza handed his evidence over to the cops. The case remains unsolved.

But there are some allegations against the former Gotti crony that are closer to home: In 2016, Alite's brother, James, filed a lawsuit claiming that his brother cheated him out of $140,000 in construction company earnings. At the time, John Alite told Gang Land the suit "started with Gotti's brain" and that Junior was "manipulating him. That's what he does, he plays the drums and now he's got a hold of my brother."

This week, James said his brother John was right. He told Gang Land that Gotti, Kasparoza, and lawyer Elio Forcina, a longtime Gotti pal, pushed him "to sign a document saying that John threatened me because Gotti wanted to revoke" his brother's supervised release restrictions. At the same time, James said, they were telling him "they were going to use me as a witness on the Witsec Mafia show" and that "I could make $15,000."

Sean Richard-John Alite"Elio's role was to get me to sign that for John (Gotti)," said James, recalling that on the day that he signed the notarized complaint, Forcina drove him to Cherry Hill, where James lived. "We made a surprise stop at an Italian restaurant and John (Gotti) and another guy met us for lunch" where they talked about his Witsec Mafia appearance that never happened, James said.

Kasparoza, who says he investigates and approves all the derogatory info about Alite that he posts on his website, posted a video of Alite's home on the site along with a video of his next-door neighbor, mob turncoat Sean Richard, who testified last year at the trial of four Luchese gangsters convicted of the 2013 murder of former Purple Gang leader Michael Meldish.

The video-posting took place in 2017, after Jeff Lowman, the host of a Philadelphia-based podcast, Mob Talk Radio, who uses the name Jeff Canarsie, also hired Forcina for a lawsuit in which he accused Alite of defaming him in remarks he posted about him on his Facebook page. The suit was settled out of court in 2018, but both parties say they are prohibited from discussing it.

Kasparoza accompanied Lowman to a gated community in Freehold where Alite lived at the time and videotaped Richard and posted it on his website. He blocked out the addresses but noted that like Alite, Richard was a cooperating witness, and a prime target for the Witsec Mafia.

Chris Kasparoza-John A. GottiLowman told Gang Land that Kasparoza, who videotaped Alite outside Brooklyn Federal Court several times before the case was settled, was in Freehold, at Forcina's suggestion, solely to memorialize the official serving of Lowman's complaint.

On that score, Alite noted that security guards would have accepted service but Kasparoza and his crew drove into the gated community without permission and police were called when residents complained about the "activity in front of the house." Alite said the actions of Kasparoza and his crew were typical actions by Gotti sycophants who've been trying to get him arrested — or worse — since he was released from prison in 2012.

Lowman says he still has no love for Alite. But he told Gang Land that two months ago he alerted the turncoat's former attorney, Douglas Anton, that Gotti, Forcina and Kasparoza were still "after Alite" and had told cops that he had killed Foglia and was involved in a slew of other crimes.

Anton told Gang Land that in dealings he had with Forcina and Kasparoza during Lowman's lawsuit "it became very clear to me that Gotti was the driving force behind them" and that their efforts had "caused John Alite serious, serious troubles over the years." He also said Lowman told him that "they were still going to make trouble for Alite."

The lawyer stated that Lowman "didn't say that Gotti forced him to file the lawsuit" but told him that "Gotti caused him to file it."

"They're just looking to put him back him back in jail," said Anton. "They're looking to make sure that their version of the story, that John Alite is the bad guy, not John Gotti Jr., and to do that, they must discredit John, or push his buttons enough so he responds by doing something stupid. And that's not going to happen. He's turned his life around. He's not going to do that."

George AnastasiaAlite agrees with that sentiment, but said that "sometimes, Gotti and his minions make it very hard." Like when he heard that Kasparoza had "intimidated" George Anastasia and his wife while Anastasia was giving a 2017 talk that had nothing to do with Alite in a Cherry Hill library. He said he told Anastasia "he should have called 911, or better yet," he cracked, "called Joey Merlino and told him to do him a favor and slap the guy around a little bit."

In a prepared statement, Kasparoza said he "went to Anastasia's event to ask Alite on video if he (had) killed" Foglia because Alite's son had "told me he believed he did." But when "Alite didn't show" he tried to quiz Anastasia about why he didn't include in his book, Gotti's Rules, any alleged assaults of women and rape threats that Alite had made over the years.

That reply seems a bit disingenuous because as a good investigator, Kasparoza knew, or should have known, that Alite wasn't going to be there because the flyer about the Anastasia talk stated it was about the Philadelphia mob.

"He didn't intimidate me or my wife, who was sitting near him in the audience," Anastasia recalled, "but he didn't want to give up the mike, and kept trying to ask me about Alite. Since the audience wasn't there to hear about Alite and Gotti, I tried to keep it short. But he didn't want to stop, so I said that Gotti wasn't acquitted, he had a hung jury, and I kept going back to his proffer to the FBI in 2005. But he didn't want to hear about it. That's too bad. If Gotti had gone ahead with his proffer, he could have been the boss of the Witsec Mafia.

COVID-19 KOs Grand Juries — So An Innocent Queens Businessman Gets To Go Home From Jail — At least For Now
Justin DelluomoJustin Delluomo, the respected Queens businessman whom the feds threw in jail eight months ago for refusing to testify against two allegedly violent mob associates, caught a break last week and earned a temporary release from the Metropolitan Detention Center for purely technical reasons.

Delluomo, who was jailed for civil contempt last August, had cited undisclosed medical ailments in asking for a release for health reasons based on the COVID-19 pandemic. That request was denied. But since the coronavirus crisis has shut down the federal grand jury system in Brooklyn until at least May 20 he was released anyway, Gang Land has learned.

Gang Land got the scoop after contacting attorney Paul D'Emelia about his client's release, which occurred on Wednesday, April 22, according to the Bureau of Prisons database.

"It's a temporary release," said D'Emilia. "They have told us that when grand jury actions resume at the conclusion of this crisis, they will call my client back before the grand jury and try to elicit testimony from him again."

Paul D'EmiliaAs Gang Land reported in August, Brooklyn Federal Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall ordered Delluomo, 31, to be locked up for refusing to testify against already indicted accused arsonist-extortionists, Peter Tuccio and Jonathan Gurino. Both men have been free without bail since their arrest back in November of 2018.

The duo, who are both 27, and hail from Howard Beach, allegedly torched a car belonging to the owner of a Queens pizzeria, and terrorized the man into forking over a $5000 payment to Gambino capo Ignazio (Iggy) Alogna, an old pal of the late John Gotti, back in 2015.

Delluomo, who is also a Howard Beach resident, insists he has no info about that caper, or any other charges against the defendants. But sources say prosecutors Kristin Mace and Nadia Moore want Delluomo to finger the duo for trying to extort money from him during that same time frame.

"Justin is tremendously relieved to be home," said the attorney. "He's got a precarious physical condition that leaves him especially vulnerable to this virus. Any misgivings that he has about his overall situation are still outweighed by the relief that he's home and hopefully out of danger for a while."

D'Emilia declined to discuss his client's physical ailments, or the reasons why Judge DeArcy Hall declined to release him on health grounds, noting that the court filings in the case are sealed.

Judge LaShann Dearcy HallThe lawyer stated that the judge ordered Delluomo released after prosecutors acquiesced and joined his request for the temporary release.

"I have asked numerous times for him to be released," said D'Emilia, who implied that the action by the hardnosed prosecutors was something they felt duty bound to go along with. "They only consented this one time," he said. "I think there was a bulletin that stated there will be no grand jury sitting until May 20. I guess when it became official they consented to my request."

Last month, it looked like Delluomo's unusual stay behind bars might be coming to an end sooner rather than later when one of the two defendants, Gurino, agreed to resolve the charges against him and was slated to plead guilty to reduced charges. But that window of hope closed when the proceeding was adjourned.

Tuccio's intentions are unknown. But even if he and Gurino are interested in a plea deal, it's unlikely the matter can be resolved before May 20. That means Delluomo will be back behind bars next month — not because he broke any laws, but because federal prosecutors in Brooklyn say he's the victim of a crime that he refuses to talk about.

Coronavirus A Get-Out-Of-Jail Card For Fat Chicky; Not For King Merlin Though
David CecchetelliDavid (Fat Chicky) Cecchetelli, the longtime Genovese associate and buddy of Junior Gotti who was arrested and jailed on weapons charges when FBI agents rounded up 60 Latin Kings back in December was released on bail last week in an effort to reduce his chance of being infected by the COVID-19 virus.

Cecchetelli, 52, was released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond following his emergency release request that was based on the likelihood that undisclosed health ailments that the obese defendant suffers might be exacerbated by the killer coronavirus bug.

Fat Chicky became collateral damage in the monstrous case against Latin Kings members from several northeast states when FBI agents raided his Springfield, Massachusetts home at 4AM on December 5. They also arrested his nephew, Michael (King Merlin) Cecchetelli, the accused Supreme East Coast Regional Overseer of Latin King Chapters from Massachusetts to Florida.

Michael CecchetelliIt just so happened that on the night before, Fat Chicky decided not to spend the night at the Westfield, MA home of his girlfriend, where he stays most of the time. Instead, he opted to sleep in the bedroom at the home he shared with his nephew and agents found four bullets under his bed and another five rounds on a bedroom dresser.

King Merlin Cecchetelli, 40, like many of his codefendants who are charged with a slew of murders, attempted rubouts and other violent crimes from 2009 through last year, remains behind bars awaiting trial on racketeering conspiracy and murder charges that carry mandatory life sentences.

For Fat Chicky though, the possible outcome is much less severe. He faces a maximum prison term of five years, and probably much less. And according to court filings, his attorney Mark Smith and assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Kaplan are currently discussing a possible plea deal.

Especially when he knows Alite associates with pedophiles. Why doesn't he mention that the first draft of his book with Anastasia was written by Alite's cellmate in Witsec, Michael Blutrich, a pedophile?

I don't know man, Capeci has been doing this a long time, is well respected and has a fairly high degree of credibility. He has access to a lot of sources and you can be sure Mr Corozzo wouldn't allow himself to be quoted saying anything helpful to Alite unless there was some truth in it...

Kasparoza - keep up your great work. Gotti, jr. still has street cred and your joint work on WITSEC reminds me of the current expose of handwritten notes on Lt. General Michael Flynn who the FBi vowed to get at any cost. Perhaps Comey might be doing a perp walk soon.
The Foglia murder has to be followed up on. Is Alite's father still alive? He ran that club and if a GJ was empaneled perhaps someone might turn?
