It was the Pittsburgh family that made the hotel reservations for Cerrito and Lanza, either it was Frank Adragna or Salvatore Marino. Sal said it was is grandfather who did, while Vito said it was his dad. Depends on who you believe. Nice find those pages Antiliar.

Wiseguy wrote:There is a great chapter on Apalachin the book The Mob And the City by Alexander Hortis. He gives some good info including:

* In depth details on how the meeting was discovered

* A map of where people were caught around the Barbara estate

* A list of the attendees, their positions, how they were caught, etc. He lists 72 in all, including 18 from NYC, 23 from upstate NY, 14 from other parts of the Northeast, 8 from the Midwest, 5 from Western States, and 4 from Southern States.

* Others he says there is "no reliable proof for their attendance" include Milwaukee boss Frank Balistrieri, New England boss Raymond Patriarca, St Louis boss John Vitale, former Boston Boss Philip Buccola, Rockford underboss Joseph Zammuto, Detroit captain Anthony Giacalone, the Cotroni brothers of Montreal, and Giuseppe Settacase of Sicily.

Other suspects determined not to have attended were Bartola Failla of Miami (he was in Jersey for a denaturalization proceeding), Trafficante associate Joe Silesi, Bufalino associate Modesto "Murph" Loquasto (he had been seen operating a craps game in Pittston on the evening of November 14, 1957), and Bufalino associate William Medico (the FBI only were able to identify an earlier summer trip to Apalachin).
In my research on this I have found a couple different FBI files that state Rockford boss Antonio Musso asked Frank Zito of Springfield, Illinois to attend and represent their interests, which he did. Zito was brother to Rockford consigliere Joe Zito. I have also tried and tried to track down evidence of Balistrieri's attendance or at least someone attending on his behalf but have failed to do so as yet as well as Carlo Caputo, boss of Madison, Wisconsin.

I wonder if Carlo Caputo was related to Donald "Moosey" Caputo from Youngstown?

Giuseppe Cotroni, Luigi Greco, and Antonio Sylvestro from Canada we're there. They remained in the house with Carmine Galante, Tommy Lucchese, and Stefano Lasalle till sometime in the middle of the night, then snuck out of the area. There were about a dozen mobsters that remained inside the house. Staties never entered the house, cause they did not have an warrent. Giuseppe Settacase has been mentioned being there but as far as I can tell, he stayed in Sicily due to the winter coming on. It is still a who's who in attendance.
