I know next to nothing about the Gambinos but I am almost 100% sure that I read somewhere, I think Gang Land, that various members from other crews were placed under Mastrangelo because Mastrangelo was a brokester who couldn’t earn for himself.moneyman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 3:19 pmYou're right he was indicted as a soldier, my bad. He's an interesting figure to me because he was one of the few Sicilian associates we know about who was operating in the US recently. Curious to know if he's been made in Sicily and if he is still considered a high-level target by Italian/US authorities.

Not various members of his crew, but at least one member was placed with Mastrangelo for financial reasons, it appears. Don't know if this applies to Gaetano Napoli.TommyGambino wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 4:57 pmDon't remember seeing that gangland. Gang Land from August 25, 2011:
In court papers, prosecutors wrote that shortly after Frogiero, 44, was “made,” Howard Santos, a longtime JoJo Corozzo associate who was cooperating with the FBI, learned that attorney Corozzo had told Vinny Carwash that he “would be placed in the crew of co-defendant Louis Mastrangelo rather than the crew of co-defendant Alphonse Trucchio.”
Since their indictment on Mafia Takedown Day in January, Trucchio, 34, Mastrangelo, 67, Corozzo, 69, and Vinny Carwash, whose family also owns an Italian restaurant and an Italian ices and ice cream store, have all been detained as dangers to the community as they await trial.
In a tape-recorded July 1, 2009 conversation, Trucchio crew member Tony DiMartino told Santos that Trucchio had wanted Frogiero, “a big moneymaker” to be part of his crew, and had “sent a message” to Corozzo imploring him to “keep (Frogiero) with me,” wrote prosecutors Elie Honig, John Zach and Daniel Chung.
Vincenzo FrogieroIn the end, DiMartino said, the mobster “did the right thing” by placing him with the aging capo because Mastrangelo was strapped for cash. “He’s a fucking brokester,” said DiMartino.

HIGHLY fuckin interesting...... so he might have been a representative of Mineo, who we know was planning trips to America and meeting with the Inzerillos in Sicily.scagghiuni wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 2:39 amyesCabriniGreen wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 5:20 pmIs that Settimo Mineos family?scagghiuni wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 9:23 amhe was made in sicily (pagliarelli family)and his father was a made member toomoneyman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 8:48 am felice, do you have any updated information on the status of Roberto Settineri? Makes sense to me, Tommy.
I've been wondering if John Ambrosio was acting captain of Mastrangelo's crew because Mastrangelo was struggling with heart problems and it was a Queens based crew Ambrosio was running.
