Squillante murder

Re: Squillante murder
A few other good things in that document. It was interring how different informants gave different versions of the initiation.
Re: Squillante murder
Harold Konisberg gave up a lot, he knew all about where those bodies were left in New Jersey, on that I believe he testified openly. The stuff he gave on who did it he wouldn't say openly. He still wound up doing a lot of time, he never had a deal in writing from the feds or locals.
Re: Squillante murder
Agreed but he also got a lot of information wrong. Either he was giving disinformation, which isn't very likely, or he was only privy to the guys he dealt with and street rumors.
Re: Squillante murder
He was trying to play LE by doing as you said. He also did a hell of a job of faking insanity, including urinating openly in front of a judge once. He did supposedly protect those he considered friends, and did not give them up.

In September 1960 Squillante vanished. Six years later an informant advised the FBI that he had been murdered and his remains cut up and burned and then disposed of in the garbage dump owned by a Frank Troiano. It was the informants belief that Frank Troiano, Joseph Fiorello, Nick Rattenni and Leo Troiano either killed Squillante or caused his remains to be disposed of after he was killed. According to Jerry Capeci and Gene Mustain in the book "Murder Machine", Nino Gaggi was somehow involved with this killing.
