Detroit/NYC connections 2020

Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
Sorry should be other families
Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
This came up before, and applies to Detroit as well. How many guys are left that have been properly introduced to members of other families. The Oufits John Matassa is related by blood or marriage to a Genovese member, so it's possible that he has been properly introduced to others. Maybe that is why he supposedly was part of the administration for a short time. Solley DiLaurentis did 16 years and maybe was introduced in prison or when he came out. Maybe that's one of the reasons he became boss. What happens when a Family has nobody left that has been introduced to a member from another Family.
Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
In the 1980s Scarpa reported that the Colombo leadership was seeking to reach out to the Detroit family via Salvatore J. Profaci. That was decades ago, but that's the most recent contact I'm aware of aside from the rumors (?) of Profaci taking issue with Anthony Zerilli's conduct in the 2010s, though that would appear to be a dispute between relatives.
Not NYC or a made member, but on Angelo Lutz's cooking show he talked about being close to one of the made Corrado sons in prison.

Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
In short no one knows how much contact they have if any at all. Prison is one of the main ways mafiosi forge relationships with guys from other cities so it's definitely possible there is some contact between certain guys but no one knows. I'm sure most people were surprised to find out that Todaro Jr was able to reach out to 3 NY bosses to make them aware of an administrative change he made so taking that into consideration I don't think it would be as big of a surprise to find out there was still some contact between NY and Detroit.
You can certainly say there isn't as much contact today as there was in the past but anything beyond that is speculation.

If I recall correctly, "Johnny Bananas" and the photo was a blurred pic of what looked like the John Di Fronzo mugshot. (If he's a convicted LCN member, why not name him and show the pic?) If he said Corrado it was in another video.
Last time I spoke to Scott Burnstein about it, he stated that while the Giacalones have taken over, their children are legitimate whereas the Toccos children are staying involved. The Judge who sentenced Jack Tocco to time served for being an LCN boss in 1995 has a son who spends time with Tocco's son in Florida.
Detroit has some strong Terrasini/Alcamo bloodlines, similar to Rockford's Aragonese and Elizabeth's Riberese.

The Detroit Mafia or what remains of it is more a gambling ring that a mob family and was confinated in the last white zones in the city, the Outfit are more active and Chicago wasn't Detroit.

I stand corrected. He did say Corrado. But there was also a "Johnny Bananas" with DiFronzo's photo blurred in one of his videos.Cheech wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 7:45 amhey paisan, this oneChris Christie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:20 am If I recall correctly, "Johnny Bananas" and the photo was a blurred pic of what looked like the John Di Fronzo mugshot. I don't think I ever seen that one. Maybe it was it Super Bowl Stromboli?Chris Christie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 7:52 amI stand corrected. He did say Corrado. Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
John Gotti definitely at least knew of Anthony Giacalone. Some of his prison tapes has him talking about Giacalone in I think the late nineties. I always assumed that came from Cutler for a time giving Giacalone legal help during the whole Gamtax case. So threw Cutler it wouldn't surprise me if Jackie Giacalone may be acquainted with some New York Gambinos. And the Todaros worked with the Detroit Family in the 80s and definitely visited there, so Todaro Jr. would definitely know some of the Detroit guys. And Todaro knows the New York guys.
Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
In todaro’s fbi file mentioned, that the Todaro and tocco are relatives
Re: Detroit/NYC connections 2020
Just for the hell of it, I'd invite anyone to come up with actual examples of actual working connections involving families outside the Northeast over the past 20 years.
In the early 2000s, one Bonanno soldier ran a strip club in Chicago and that may have had Outfit involement. Another Bonanno soldier was involved in the Outfit-connected Crazy Horse Too strip club in Vegas. I can't think of anything involving Detroit.
Buffalo was the anomaly that proved the status quo.

All roads lead to New York.
