That would mean his captain is one of the Zips, maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can tell me how probable that is.
Licata came up with William 'Billy' Scotto they were close to long time Marino crew member John Gammanaro. Licata was indicted with Scotto and Manny Garofalo in an extortion case some years ago and Scotto was indicted with Gammanaro when Gammanaro was acting captain.

Thanks, JohnnyS, so is the 18th Ave. crew almost exclusively Sicilian? And is there another crew in the same general area with non-Zips, like Billy Scotto and others? I ask because the Colombos are big in that area, and have had frequent contact with both Zips and non-Zips, according to court papers from the big 2011 indictment.JohnnyS wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 1:43 pmIts possible, gohn but I don't believe so. The Marino/Lombardozzi crew have had operations all over Brooklyn especially in the mid/late 2000's when they were the biggest crew in the Gambinos. Juliano crew is another that comes to mind that has operated around there.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 4:46 pmThanks, JohnnyS, so is the 18th Ave. crew almost exclusively Sicilian? As for 18th ave being all Sicilian Im not 100% sure on that but I'll say I would be surprised if there's any outside soldiers with them like Licata there. They're a tight knit crew since John Gambino was released.

Most of the crew seems to be but what bloodline does Lanni have? I know bronx said Cali sponsored him in to the family, that 18th ave crew is very interesting, been the powerbase of the family for 10 years, Lanni, tall pete inzerillo, tommy gambino, some people say francesco inzerillo is a captain, he was Cali's right hand man, he might be in this crew, santo zito, joe gambino are made members of this crew, anyone know any others, be shocked if they haven't made loads of the gambino/inzerillo/mannino/spatola/zitos since they've been in charge, i thought the last indictment was going to be a big bust but they didn't scratch the surfacegohnjotti wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 4:46 pmThanks, JohnnyS, so is the 18th Ave. crew almost exclusively Sicilian? Re: GL NEWS 3/5/2020
What a joke.
So:
“The threat came when Anthony Suits "directed" Kirsheh to call the woman, apologize to her, and agree to pay her back“
So someone’s stealing, you ask them to apologize and repay what you stole, to a widow, and you’re the criminal.
Joke.
Did the prick who was stealing get convicted of anything?
Good question Tommy:
gambino/inzerillo/mannino/spatola/zitos.
You’d have to assume with the zips in charge for more than a decade membership has to have been focused on direct italian/family blood.
Regards Tortola, a seven year max plea seems incredibly lenient for a murder rap. Considering the above you get the feeling the Feds are grasping at straws in compiling cases and throwing mud hoping it sticks with an LCN association.
I find it personally difficult to believe tax dollars couldn’t be spent better elsewhere.
Elsewhere = Anywhere.
God forbid you ask a thief to apologize and repay, what he stole.

Re: GL NEWS 3/5/2020
The thing is, the prosecutors compiling the mob cases these days are the bottom of the barrel, hate to say it. The good prosecutors work with the heavily funded task forces and the headline media cases, like terrorism and cartels. This should’ve been a state case, right? But the racketeering conspiracy allowed the feds to lump a misdemeanour into an “economic extortion” charge that some rookie prosecutor was talked into pursuing. That’s my 2 cents, for what it’s worth.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:40 pm @Wiseguy:

Paul Semplice is another known member in the 18th ave crew.
gohn will find this interesting, Joe Lanni was caught up in a case with a few Colombo associates including black Dom in 1999. Then we have the fat Larry Sessa document from 2013 where somebody from the Colombos mentioned Mannino and Lanni as friends.
