Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
Is it possible to put together a list like this through time. We know who all the bosses and probably most of the capos but what about all the soldiers that have been initiated into the secret society known as La Cosa Nostra “This Chicken Nugget of Ours”. No but seriously, this would be a feasible project because it would be nearly impossible to do it with a family like the Genoveses or the Gambinosi due to their size and even though Chicago isn’t super super small like a LA family it certainly would be a good chart to have in chronological order.
Does anyone ie Pogo Thy Clown or any of the real serious gangsters on this forum have any documents or charts they could post then we fill in the blanks kind of thing?

Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
There might be one in the charts section. I'm not sure if it was here or GangsterBB but there was a chart that showed all of the crews in the 1950s. West Side, North Side, Cicero, etc. Someone mentioned something before that each of these crews were basically ran like separate families while Accardo, Ricca etc were sort of the Luciano, Costello types in Chicago, chairmen of the commission.
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”
Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
I will attempt to compule the made members as a project and will post and other ppl can post to add if i miss any which I most definitelt will do

Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
No offense to anyone but certain people have a better grasp on certain families. Historically villain would be good for Chicago Chicago is so hard tho because we know is such few actually ceremonies. I’d be happy to help I whatever way I can most of my knowledge is focused from the 60’s to present day as opposed to someone like villain who goes all the way back to the early days

Just to be clear are we only talking made members or members and actual year they were made?

Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
I think that would be an almost impossible task because the Outfit didn't even use a traditional Ceremony many times years ago. Sooo, who was considered "Made" was not so defined like in New York. The obvious famous guys who were considered "Made" would be easy but all the other middle level guys would be hit & miss IMO.

Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
Still the same problem. A lot of those famous guy in the 1950's & 1960's didn't even go through that finger pricking Ceremony. Some of them had a dinner honoring them & others we just know they were of "Made" status because of their position within the Outfit. The middle level guys would still be a problem and in my humble opinion would be hit & miss & endless speculation. I personally think the guys in the Outfit back in the 50's & 60's & probably most of the the 70's were "made" when they were put in charge of something and had guys working under them. How many went through some kind of a Ceremony is unknown if it was even considered important at that time. Again, just my opinion from the research done.Extortion wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 9:50 pmThats why i said from 1930s on but maybe i should change it to 1940s on?Confederate wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 4:55 pm

Hmm that is interesting. I never really knew that... Well,,,,It is still La Cosa Nostra in my eyes but run differently like a branch office with more power (lets say that area is more profitable)Confederate wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:16 pmStill the same problem. I mean they “closed the books” for years and did all sorts of contradictory stuff.
Confederate,
Do you have a date where they supposedly made guys and what time period? 70s maybe so I can compile names...even if it seems impossible just putting a name down could be useful.

Re: Chicago list of made members (1930s-Present)
I think they started making guys the old fashioned way (finger pricking Ceremony) when Auippa was the Boss & maybe it was the latter part of the 1970's? Nick Calabrese talked about his making Ceremony in 1983 which was done in the traditional style. Maybe Villain or Pete have more information about it during the 1970's?Extortion wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:06 amHmm that is interesting. I never really knew that... Confederate,

To be honest, when I read Bill Roemer's Book (the former F.B.I. Agent in Chicago during the late 1950's, 1960's, 1970's & the first part of the 1980's), He said in his book that when a guy was "Made" in Chicago that he was put in charge of something and had his own Crew even though he still answered to a bigger Boss. The example was Spilotro. He had his own crew in Las Vegas but still answered to Lombardo. Made guys ran sub Crews or helped run a sub Crew in some kind of management or assistant management position.
Also, in Chicago, there was a difference between being a full fledged member of the Outfit & being a member of the National La Cosa Nostra. For example, Gus Alex was a full fledged high ranking member of the Outfit but was not "technically" a member of the National La Cosa Nostra because he was Greek. Sorry I can't be of more help but that's the way I understood it so I never put too much emphasis at who went through a Ceremony and was made. I just looked at the guy's position in the Outfit. if he was Italian and in charge of something with guys working under him, then I assumed he was "Made" or of "Made" status.
