This is basically what Franzese did and he’s widely considered a rat. He gave up info to Feds on who he was made with, who was in what role with the family, and more. But he never got up on a stand and said this information. I believe the only person he actually testified against was his own black associate, Norby Walters. As far as I know Franzese never testified against any wise guys.

I’m not sure why Jr doesn’t get the same label. He gave information about his borgata to the Feds. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Agreed, that’s what I was saying about Franzese. He didn’t need to get on the stand to be a rat. He was a rat when he told the Feds when he was made, who he was made with, who conducted the ceremony, what the family structure was, etc. That’s why his excuse of “I never testified against any Wiseguys, only Norby Walters” doesn’t matter to me. Bo Dietel was friends with Gotti, he said they knew each other growing up. He is close to a lot of top celebrities and has a security company that provides a lot of them with bodyguards. He does bullshit a lot, more so the past few years. From the time of his days as a detective he has been building up his image. I don't hold that against a person, but he goes too far now. I doubt him and Sonny were friends.

Dietl was in talks to help produce a tv show about the DeMeo crew called “the Flatlands”. He does a podcast and had the creators of the show on last year (Joe and Tim DiMarco). Dietl was saying that the DeMeo Crew is at the top of his list of mob stories that haven’t been told. I don’t know if the show ever got picked up by a network or anything, so who knows if it’s still happening.

Also, the DiMarco brothers said they found the traditional estimates of murders done by the DeMeo crew as way too conservative. They thought it was closer to 1000 than 300 LOL.
