From 1992-2002 just about every Gotti era Capo was imprisoned or died as did several of the guys who replaced them. I suspect that was why guys like Squitieri, Megale and Joe Corozzo got the top spots.

Yeah.

I mean look at who becomes Capos or bosses now.

It's guys who were scrubs in the 70s or 80s at points. Not world stopping earners or killers.

Their main attribute is that they survived and were available.

You’re right, my bad.

I don’t remember Gallo writing that there was any feud or beef between the uncle and nephew. IIRC, John would’ve ended up a Colombo but the family’s books were closed in the 1990s, and he already had a sponsor and future in the Luccheses.

Wasn't his uncle. He hated his dad. And while his dad prolly didn't even get made until after he did...seemed like he didn't want to be around him at all.

(If Gallo can be believed.)

If Dominic Logozzo is made, that must mean that his brother-in-law/business partner (and Colombo soldier) Craig Marino is still active, at least enough to propose Logozzo for induction (unless Logozzo has another sponsor). Following his 2016 release from prison, it appeared Marino made a full time resettlement to Florida.
He's definitely still active. I've seen him with eating with other made guys a few times at Dolce Vita on Ave N and once at Baci on 3rd ave in Bay Ridge.

Bklyn21 wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:23 am And SUPPOSEDLY the reason For the Azzarelli induction if true ? Was because he was being approached by people from the Gambinos and trying to have him come on board and put on record with the Gams for protection and the weakening of the Colombos even further and was being offered a better deal and more opportunities so the Colombos proposed him and inducted him quickly to end all the encroachment etc..
This reason doesn’t make sense to me because you can’t just switch families like that. John would have had to get released by the Colombo’s to go over to the Gambino fam. He’s been with the Colombo’s for a very long time and they’ve made a lot of money with him so I don’t see them just letting the Gambino’s poach him like that. And just because the Gambino’s are stronger doesn’t mean they can take associates away from other families at will. Maybe there’s more to the story but honestly he earns and he’s been around a long time so they don’t need anymore reasons than those to straighten him out.

I don't know the whole story ? There's obviously more most of the time , Nothing's what it seems usually , It sounded like the other HB story about that Gambino associate getting beaten by Giallanzo so they inducted him to stop the beatings , Harassment etc..We know some of the history of the disputes between the Gambinos and Colombos in Bensonhurst and the surrounding areas over the years involving Spata, And the stabbing incident where Andy Mush told them they should of retaliated before a sit down and trying to extort payments for the attack and hospital bills etc. Among a few other interactions. So who knows with Azzarelli or the whole story behind it all

It could 100% be true considering Angelo Spata’s father was considered for induction in 2009 after he was being shaken down by the Gambinos at some of the feasts that the Colombos didn’t control.
