Speaking of Chicago (this isn't really worth starting a thread about), anyone heard of this guy? Michael Frontier, who has several aliases, and was busted for bookmaking back in October.

All roads lead to New York.

That’s what interests me , if Outfit has the power to still tax the large bookmakers in Chi area. I think it’s pretty clear they have deliberately opted not to follow the NY / NJ large bookmaking operations with dozen of agents where everyone gets popped every 10+ years and chalked up as cost of doing biz.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 4:16 pm Speaking of Chicago (this isn't really worth starting a thread about), anyone heard of this guy? I always wondered if Outfit chose the safe / stable cash flow route by taxing instead of running a vast booking operation that brings in less cash but also less heat.
The outfit is such an unknown but they always had huge loansharking operations and if we knew the size of that racket today we would have a better idea of their possible strength. As outside of their semi legit biz , what else is left w/ o poker, taxing and robbery scores

From what I know based on guys that run books the outfit does not tax them. My buddy has run a huge book for years and he told me they never even approached himTommyNoto wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 8:02 pmThat’s what interests me , if Outfit has the power to still tax the large bookmakers in Chi area. I think it's obvious that, for the most part, that if there has been guy made in the last 20 years that we don't know about, that keeps the Family alive, but if not their basically done.
