Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
I would think so , There's no federal statute of limitations on Murder or Murder conspiracy
Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
Since there's really no one left to be a solid witness to the murders I doubt they'd ever bring murder charges against him unless they have a rock solid case and rock solid witnesses to the crimes , Maybe Sammy Bull ? But who knows if he would even testify or they would call him to testify and give a statement since he's in no major trouble and even then I doubt it
Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
When Sammy flipped he named every shooter and back up guy in the hit. Some of these guys were still walking the streets for yrs after Gotti was convicted. For some reason the Feds needed more info then just Sammys testimony that they were the shooters etc If they went on just his testimony they could have indicted everyone of them that were on the seen and rolled it into the Gottis trail. Even guys that were already locked up like Carneglia by 1991.NYNighthawk wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 6:13 pm Looking at these open homicides could John Carneglia be busted for them at this late date?

It could be since the eyewitnesses to the murders (Castallano and Billoti) gave conflicting statements.Rocco wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 8:32 amWhen Sammy flipped he named every shooter and back up guy in the hit. Think he probably done more than that a guy that goes under the radar not overly spoken about heard he was a huge earner in his own right had a lot of associates.

Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
If they put a federal grand jury together - give immunity to Gene , Sammy and Vallario - could they ruffle the feathers a little? Possible indictment? Force John to take a plea?
Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
Those guys would say nothing and wind up taking a contempt charge, maybe do some time. In the end, they probably wouldn't have enough to indict, never mind convict.NYNighthawk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 6:49 am If they put a federal grand jury together - give immunity to Gene , Sammy and Vallario - could they ruffle the feathers a little? Artuso was another guy who was never charged. I wonder if his gun jamming and his not firing was a cause of him never being charged, although they would certainly have enough for conspiracy.
Who knows.

Your'e right about Vinny Artuso and his gun jamming during the Castellano hit. Wasn't Joe watts also on that hit? I think some rookie federal prosecutor could make his or her bones by putting together a GJ and go after some of these unindicted co-conspirators.

Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
It can go both ways either make their bones or end their career opening old sock draws as their first major case. They’d probably wait for a case with concrete evidence that’s 90%+ theyll win but thats my 2 centsNYNighthawk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 7:56 pm+1Bruno187 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 4:02 pmThose guys would say nothing and wind up taking a contempt charge, maybe do some time. there will never be a case.. never... '
Re: Open murder cases on John Carneglia
Yes, you're right about Watts. He's inside as we speak and not supposed to get out until 2022.
That might be part of the reason he's never been charged in that hit...he's been in and out quite a bit over the past 30 years.
His gun, unlike Artuso's didn't jam.
