What do you guys think that is the profile of the wiseguys of this era?
They obviously no longer dress as good as they did, more tracksuits and hoodies now. They probably don't listen to the same type of music, sadly most kids nowadays want to listen rap and act like gangbangers.
Are you guys aware if there are wannabe wise guys wearing earrings and tattoos all over the place? I know that old fella Lucibello wears some hoop earrings
I ask you guys this to try to understand what kind of direction LCN may have in 20 or 30 year period with this generation.
Look at survellance pics of mob guys. Sure, sometimes tracksuits and hoodies. But more often slacks or jeans and a shirt. Noticeable tattoos seem relatively rare but more common than earrings. I can't think of another example besides Lucibello in one photo.
The average mob member is in his 60s or 70s. I don't think they are listening to rap.
Ask yourself this. How many 20-30 year olds do u know (whether in the mob or not) are walking around in three piece suits and fedoras listening to Sinatra these days? People are overall more casual these days. Considering these guys don’t really have 9-5 office jobs they are going to be very casual. Hell I work for a bank but the first thing I do when I get home is put on sweats .

that's why I am asking! because all the 20 or 30 years old guys that I know have a very different mindset.

You know who started that shit? The transition from a suit and tie, trench coat and fedora, black shoes, dress slacks, cuffed sleeves, pocket hanky, over to a fucking tee shirt, baggy jeans and sneakers? The Count. John Digilio. I once saw him at a open air concert uptown where he was sitting on a bench and he was dressed in shorts and some flowery looking Hawaiian short sleeve shirt. It was september! Had the scraggly stache, hairy patches on his cheeks and a mullet before it became hip. he looked like a fucking hippie man. All the guys around that era Prisco and them all followed the same look. Real hoods. Stickball kids dress like that. With the open shirt and the chains. I tell ya it all turned to shit once adonis got deported. That piece a shit charlie salzano? One time I seen him wearing this nice alpaca sweater, leather kangol like the mulinyan wore back then, and hes contrasting it with jeans and a pair of pro keds. No shit! Fucking loser. Hes burning in hell just for that. And just so you know for the historical record that was'nt no diversion tactic neither. To throw the federales off the stench. They just had no class or knew fashion from what. Fuck em.
Some mob guys look like they dress like shit but to be fair a lot of the times we see pics when they were just arrested and they have on their leisure wear or just threw on the nearest thing before being led out of the house, or they dress like shit on purpose, to make it look like they are poor and not involved in OC. In my opinion, the average mob guy dresses like an average or slightly above average 40-50 year old man, with some guys that take care of themselves a little more, and some guys that dress like bums.
The days of suits are ancient history, I think a short sleeve dress shirt and a pair of pants/slacks or a decent pair of jeans is decent enough, maybe a nice polo. They don’t want to attract a lot of attention, so just appear as a decently dressed middle aged man.

I agree with this, especially most of them dressing lije the average 40-50 year old. And the feds love to arrest these guys at 5AM and yank them out of bed. That's often why they look like hell in the perp walk photos.

When I hear people talk about mobsters in pinstriped suits and fedora hats, I roll my eyes. That's really how much of the general public pictures the Mafia. Also add in a Thompson submachine gun and maybe a cigar.
Almost no one wears suits anymore, they would stand out and look a bit ridiculous in them. If you wear a suit and tie the past 20 years people ask if you have an event to go to when they see you. Maybe older guys, but anyone under 50 dresses casual, even at a lot of office jobs.

JIGGS
I haven't laughed like that on here in a bit. Thanks! Leave it to the guys from Jersey though, right?
Thank JD's son for most of the mess of the 2000s and 10s. He wanted to make believe he was the new Sheriff in town and wired for sound.

Lol ikr, it’s rediculous to think that they are stuck in a time capsule like that
Back in the days even some oldtimers were attracted by the up and coming styles, like for example long time Chicago Outfit capo Ross Prio died in 1972 at the age of 72 and during his younger days he was the fedora and $500 suits type of persona, but later according to one surveillance report from 1970 or 1971 i think, he was described wearing pink shoes, green shirt and black leather jacket lol
