Another old Rizzuto rival. Seems like they are determined to wipe out all past and present enemies.
The only untouchables imo are the Commissos themselves but everyone else is up for grabs.
From their perspective, it's only logical otherwise it will never end.
One of the 48 laws of power: crush your enemies completely.
the commisso's are in danger too, they probably killed some of their men
The consequences for killing the Commisso leaders will be severe. Just look at what happened to Panepinto. Even Vito Rizzuto, who by some sources was considered the overlord of the Canadian Mafia, couldn't save his ass, because Panepinto had killed two made members of another organization without sanction.
So what I think may be happening is a scorced earth strategy, killing people around them in order to weaken and intimidate them. And using an olive branch to do the work.

if the commisso's supported somebody to kill rizzuto members in montreal they can be killed like the others, rizzuto clan is stronger than commisso's in canada, i don't see something more sever to the revenge of rizzuto clan nowadays
By all accounts, stefano sollecito and leo rizzuto are no dummies. The scoppa bros called the current tizzuto admin the "grappa table" and look what happened to them. The herd is getting thinned out but to take out the commissos would require a literal fucking war on the streets, they have alot of relatives. They are calabrese and all fucking interelated, theres legit hundreds of commissos alone, then count all their relatives with different names that are involved.... plus you got the Luppino guys in Hamilton that would stand idly buy while their compari in neighbouring toronto get slaughtered
The only way i could see this ending reasonably is if a bunch of the rizzuto higher ups get busted fora long time, then the war would be done and over with.
This week's episode of our new podcast, The Dark North: Gangs of Montreal, looks at how the biker war got started, the people who died, and the legacy the brutal war left in Quebec and Canada.
So is the overall consensus that the majority of the recent murders have been committed by Rizzuto loyalists with revenge being their primary motivation? When was the last non-Rizzuto murder of a Rizzuto loyalist?

i think sollecito, spagnolo and giordano in 2016, since then all the other murders were probably carried out by the rizzuto clan
