The Jews and Russians have taken over alot of Italian mob controlled business and industries especially in Brooklyn where they basically own and control everything in the Borough along with alot of other places . i don't live in NYC but i'm there a few times a year, and the neighborhoods controlled by the hasidic jews are crazy. it's what i imagine things were like back in the 20's or some shit. all the signs in hebrew and everybody with the same outfit and hair. they got their own ambulances, police, etc.

Anyway, there's little to no examples of the Russians, Jews, or a combination of the two, taking over businesses and industries once controlled by the Italians.

Looking at cases involving Eurasian groups over the past 20 years, the crimes you see most often are various types of fraud. Selling fake vodka, bootleg gasoline, healthcare fraud, credit card fraud, ID theft, securities fraud, etc. You also see some weapons trafficking, drug trafficking, and prostitution. Some burglaries and selling stolen goods .

Most of their illegal gambling involves high-stakes poker games within their own communities. The one sports betting bust I'm aware of, in 2013, also catered mainly to wealthy Russians and the like.

Most, if not all of this, really doesn't put them in direct competition with the LCN. Nor do I see Eurasian crime groups making significant inroads to things like construction, trucking, the waterfront, etc.

If you mean they moved into areas where Italians in general moved away from, and those areas have become Russian with Russians running their own businesses, that's a different story altogether.
