Michael Ragusa

Post by don-shunter »

Ed Scarpo (I know I know) has posted an article on Cosa nostra news claiming that Michael Ragusa is the new Genovese family acting/street boss. Here is the link: https://www.cosanostranews.com/2019/11/ ... e.html?m=1

I think it’s best to wait for LE or Capeci to confirm the promotion. Scarpo isn’t a great source for reliable mob info.

Ragusa, if I'm not mistaken, is from Barney's crew. But definitely take anything Scarpo says with an aircraft carrier full of salt.

wonder how this came about? not trying to shit on the guy who wrote the article but it sounds like he got a list of reputed 116th street crew members and picked out a name. its not the worst guess in the world...if there is some sort of administration in place, acting or otherwise, there would naturally be a high probability that a 116th street crew guy would be on there. buy why him? i wonder who this source is

I wonder why the article states that Ragusa replaced Red 4 years ago, when he died not even 2 years ago?

Back in the 2016 Gangland where it was first mentioned Barney was boss and Dichiara was acting for him, it mentioned DIchiara was sick so it wouldn't be that surprising if he had been replaced the year previously. It talks of him giving information to Barney in 2014 so maybe he stepped down the next year when his health took the turn for the worse. The Gangland was clearly based on 2014 and earlier information, i don't think Capeci knew what was happening exactly in 2015-2016. Not saying Ragusa is acting for him i don't even know who he is i just don't find that part too hard to believe.

Yes thanks that would make sense if it's correct information that Ragusa replaced him. It's like alot of these things that get written, we just have to wait and see. If true the thing that stands out to me is he is a younger guy than most of the leadership of the past 20 years. I still wonder what Leo's role in the Family is.

Ragusa has been involved with top guys for a long time though and he's less high profile than guys you'd expect like Leo or Muscarella. Here's an ILA indictment from 2001 where Ragusa was the Executive Director of the Metro-ILA Fringe Benefit Fund. Every other Genovese guy mentioned is a top guy other than maybe Thomas Cafaro: Cafaro, Bellomo, Andrew Gigante, Vincent Gigante, George Barone, Patsy Falcetti, Alan Longo, Ernest Muscarella, Larry Ricci and Chucky Tuzzo. Have no idea if this has any truth to it but he'd make a lot of sense as the next acting which could be exactly why someone would make it up lol. https://www.tradewindsnews.com/incoming ... 0Complaint

Also apologies if that was mentioned in the CosaNostraNews Article, i can't read it for some reason.
