Well, in addition to the members listed, the feds also had the Outfit at a little over 100 associates in 2007. But, you're right, that core of made guys is old and shrinking.
And this goes to a point some of us have made before. If the Outfit - who was always the strongest family outside New York - is in that state, what does that say about certain other families that have long been the topic of debate?

A lot a them giys are in prison or seriously retired.
Dont wanna jump the gun but with only 22 guys and over 95% a them being in senior citizen center shitting in a diaper territory or in the cam I would say there is no outfit. Its just a bunch a geezers with reputations spread out throughout the usa. Vena is the last one r ight? What the hell is fratto consiglieri of anyhow?
JIGGS
Why don't you verify it with all the sources you have?
Me?? Well Im just looking at the list and its pretty well know that marcello is in prison, so is sarno. Isnt magnifichi locked up? I read on THIS Forum that joe the builder was retired. Now I could be wrong but Im seeing guys in there 80s and 90s. You really think those guys are active? You really think jerry scalise has something to look forward to in the years to come now that hes out? When your that age the street aint your priority. The RUNS is. I'm speculating but I'd put money that the outfit is just a crew at this point. Maybe they got 1000 20 year old associates working for them. Well find out eventually. Or never.
JIGGS
Yes your right, I don't know what dude is talking about. Unless he has some solid info on some younger members he can share. Magnifichi is on the shelf and I don't think Lombardo has been a Administration member since Family Secrets.
Jesus larry petit is already 90 years old??? That means when the chicago fed bill romer wrote his book petit was already 70-something???
Rocco lombardo. He family to joey clown?
What do you think man? I dont got proof but I gotta believe that marino and some others got made. And correct me if Im wrong but is being made even a big deal when it comes to chicago? If theres 22 old farts that are members for sure theres gotta be at least another 20 in their 40s, 50s, 63s. How are they even holding power in elmwood park, grand ave, etc with 80+ yr. old guys???
JIGGS
There's a few names out there that could be made, but unconfirmed, and some of them are over 60 years old. The last confirmed making ceremony was in 88 89. Vena a Magnifichi, I believe had to be made in the 90s. You would think they had to have made some some new members in the last 25 years. Rocco is Clowns brother. I believe Petit would have been in his sixties then, still not a young guy though. Maybe they are going to start making a bunch of associates, but who knows.
Frank wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 7:15 pm2 guys under 60 thats confirmed and 1 is on the shelf. There's other names like Dote and Marino and a few others that aren't cofirmed members. Also Sarno supposedly made some new members. But yes we talked about this a year or so ago about the age of the confirmed members and they could basically start dropping dead at any moment. My opinion is The Clown was one of the most famous Outfit members, always in the news way back in the day. Just think of what he could have told.
I don't recall off the top of my head where the Sarno making guys originated. But either way, two FBI sources had the Outfit at 28 and 30 members in 2007. Unless those new guys were made in that two-year span between 2007 and when Sarno was indicted in 2009, that's likely everyone on the list.
Since 2007, when the feds put out those numbers, these guys have died:
Frank Calabrese, Sr. (2012)
James Vincent Cozzo (2007)
Charles DiCaro (2011)
John DiFronzo (2018)
Joseph Grieco (2013)
Joseph Lombardo (2019)
Louis Marino (2017)
Alfonso Tornabene (2009)

Their membership has declined by 50% over the past 20 years. I don't see them having a big recruiting drive now.

Buffalo comes to mind. The news said one a the violi twins was underboss or part of the admin. But I bet its just a room full a guys. If that.
In my view to be a real dollar to donuts functional family ya gotta have 3 or more crews. LA aint a real family and tampa is probably extinct. Pittsburgh. Cleveland. LCN is pretty much an east coast thing. If that list is accurate on chicago how are they any different from the decavalcanti family? Don't they only got like 20 guys total?

I can't remember either where that originally came from. He was boss for only 3 or 4 years. But yes even if he did and there are a few that were missed doesn't change things very much. There has been nothing about new members since, but if they have it still at best keeps them at a very small family that could really be damaged by indictments.
Does anyone know or remember if Jeffrey Sallet ever named a boss of the Outfit in his interviews. I read or watched some but never heard him mention any name or names. I think most of what we here comes from The Chicago Crime Commission.

I don't believe he has. What's interesting is when he was appointed division chief he did some interviews calling The Outfit a potent organization, powerful structure, whatever. Then DiFronzo died and he was interviewed by abc and said the same things, implying they had a lot more going on, despite the fact they have little presence on the streets and aren't associated with violence anymore.
He was interviewed by WGN last month and he said the exact opposite of his previous statements. I don't know if he was hyping them up before or there's more to it, but it sure is confusing. His latest statement mirrors what most of the knowledgeable Chicago posters here think of the Outfit's current status.
As for the mob in Chicago, Sallet said, “It is on fumes.” But organized crime is not off the FBI’s radar.
“Because the mob is like a cockroach, if you don’t keep them down they will regenerate,” he said.
Not only are some of the guys on the list dead, in prison, or shelved, but some were never made (unless they were made in the past decade or so). A couple sources told me that Marco D'Amico isn't made, Jimmy Cozzo wasn't made, Larry Petit probably wasn't made, etc. Sarno probably did make some guys and so could have some of the other leaders since 2000. A relative of his told me yesterday that Rudy Fratto is indeed a lieutenant (that's the word he used), so I guess there is some sort of Elmwood Park crew after all, although I imagine it's small.
I found it interesting that in Nick Calabrese's "threat assessment" that Anthony "Twan" Doyle was listed as a "soldier" when I have never seen him described as such. Sometimes I think even the FBI gets confused about Chicago.

The DeCavalcantes have about 40 total members or so.
