Racetrack owner w/ Outfit ties

Re: Racetrack owner w/ Outfit ties
Nick Boscarino purchased a lot of land in the Rockford area in the mid 2000s and I've seen the Parkway Bank name in some documents relating to some old Rockford LCN connected businesses. I'll have to look for them.

Are the zizzos who founded parkway and hold a quarter of the stock related to Tony Zizzo?

Lol. I remember someone on here telling us there was no way the Outfit could get in on video gambling, because the gov't runs the process now. Well there is the proof, if these guys were doing it, people in the Outfit have found ways in. The state and Chicago gov't are corrupt and inept. Always have been always will be.

You have a good point Slick, 5 Govenors have gone to prison since I was born. Just this year Alderman Burke, who by the way is former Mayor Jane Byrns brother is indicted for extortion. Sallet might not of got the Outfit, but he got Ed Burke.Slick wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 6:17 pm Lol. The Buttittas were Italian and involved in two very mobbed-up activities, namely bookmaking and a strip club, but I never was able to find an exact connection to the Outfit. Though, all things considered, the chances are better than not.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 3:13 pm It's got alot of italian sounding names, but the bookmaking operation-does it say he was paying tribute or anything about him being connected? Or was he running it unfettered but "seems" to have ties b/c of being italian. Really, the construction company attached to No Nose is the only really concrete evidence I can see in the mid 2000s. It doesnt mean it's not there I just dont see where the infiltration is.
As for the Emerald casino, DiFrinzo reportedly also tried to get the garbage contract but was denied. The Emerald was one of a few different cases since the early 2000s where people with some type of connection to the Outfit were trying to get involved with a casino, riverboat, etc.
But that's long been the issue when it comes to discussions on the Outfit. There's often these murky, unclear, connections where there's just enough for people to read a whole lot into it and come away with a grandiose idea of things. Often equating general corruption in Chicago with the Outfit and vice versa. Probably why there was outdated and unrealistic view of the Chicago mob for so many years.

100% spot on & very well stated. I wouldn't be surprised if the Outfit is the first or second of the small weak remaining Families to go under. Just need a couple more of the older guys to die and that will be it. The remaining influence will be some relatives who managed to inherit and successfully run a legitimate business. However, that being said, any relative who was lucky enough to inherit and successfully run some legitimate enterprise is not a made member of the Outfit. That's the difference IMO.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 9:42 pmThe Buttittas were Italian and involved in two very mobbed-up activities, namely bookmaking and a strip club, but I never was able to find an exact connection to the Outfit.
