Looks like the ice just broke under Amato. He was just indicted.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Cheers fellas. PM for college football picks - I'm feelin' lucky!
Couple of points.
- Amato's crew includes soldiers John Cerbone, Danny Capaldo, Thomas Scorcia, and Vincent Scura. While I don't know Scorcia and Scura's previous allegiances, court papers confirmed that Cerbone moved from the crew of Joseph Carna after his 2011 incarceration and subsequent death, and it also appears that Capaldo was placed in Amato's crew following his release from prison in 2015. This indicates to me that the family went through some serious restructuring in the wake of the 2011 busts, with the crews of Joseph Carna, Theodore Persico Jr. and Reynold Maragni all being disbanded or rearranged, and Joseph Amato and Ralph Lombardo both being promoted to captain.
- Others who apparently moved crews include John Dunn, who was under Joseph Carna until his 2011 arrest, and Joseph Marra, a former Scarpa guy who, despite his incarceration, appeared to be "around" the Teddy Persico Jr. crew.
- I'm thinking Thomas Scorcia was made recently, because his name was not on the Probation Department's list of Colombo figures from 2011. Vincent Scura's, however, was.

Absolutely. Same way as we saw info on Amato from the Bonanno case. If someone flips, depending on who, we may have more insight on the current structure/state of the Colombos.newera_212 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:11 pmexactly what I was thinking, lmao. more info for a future Gohn article
cant wait to read this. especially now that I see this crew got popped today
Until then, I'm going to stick with the hypothesis of a great rhodes scholar, Pogo the Clown, who humbly mentioned that they were a "Sinking ship" in the old RD days.

I like to think of them going from recruiting NFL first draft picks to begging the water boy to join their team.
Not worth it. I'll keep my 401k and pension benefits.

If you are in the mafia you are constantly a marked man by someone

What do you mean he was "forced?" Like he wanted out of that family, out of the life, etc.?gohnjotti wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 10:21 pm For the past decade now, Colombo family captain Joey Amato has been on thin ice in more ways than one. After fifteen years in the can, Amato, now 60, was released in 2009 and forced to rejoin a Mafia clan that had once marked him for death. Since then, he has delicately climbed the ranks of the Colombo family, becoming the captain of a crew and facilitating the inductions of his top men. Labeled by Jerry Capeci as the Colombo family's Staten Island boss, Amato has also been namedropped more than a few times by the feds, and it appears to be only a matter of time before he returns to a federal prison cell.

EDIT: Let me know what you guys think about this one. I had a really hard time piecing together all the tidbits of information and making it flow nicely.

No, but I doubt it was easy for him since he was a main Orena combatant.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 6:14 pmWhat do you mean he was "forced?"
