Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
Anyone have any theories as to where Joel will wind up in the family? He was cited by posted GohnJotti as beefing with Teddy Persico Jr. in the past.

Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
The beef with Teddy Persico Jr. occurred in the 1980s, when Teddy Jr. was a mere associate/soldier and Cacace was a captain. Cacace wanted to kill the men who botched the murder of William Aronwald, and he succeeded with Enrico Carini and the other guy whose name escapes me. Frank Smith was also slated for murder due to his role in the William Aronwald botched killing, but Smith was a big-time drug dealer working under Teddy Jr.
Teddy Jr. promised to his friend, Fat Sal Mangiavillano, that he would murder Cacace unless Cacace promised not to touch Smith.
But that was 30 years ago and since then, neither have been on the streets at the same time.
Teddy Jr., as we know, has been named the designated heir of the family. He’s in line for a promotion, for sure. Cacace might come back into the fold too, since his sons have apparently continued their involvement in the Colombo family since Cacace’s 2003 incarceration. Cacace’s sons might even be made, as they apparently worked directly for underboss Benjamin Castellazzo in illegal gambling and collecting tribute from Cacace’s old operations.
But Cacace’s status might be mired somewhat due to his role in the Ralph Dols hit, which was first confirmed by Joseph Competiello and Dino Calabro in 2009. Cacace did not have approval from Allie Persico for that murder, and Gioeli himself feared that he would be set up and killed for his role in the murder.

How certain are we that Allie Boy gets the throne?
This would have to be a first electing an imprisoned for life official boss no?

Did Mangiavillano flip? I thought I saw him in a Trevor McDonald documentary with Big Anthony Russo and Mikey Scars.gohnjotti wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 4:11 pm The beef with Teddy Persico Jr. occurred in the 1980s, when Teddy Jr. was a mere associate/soldier and Cacace was a captain. Yeah Mangiavillano flipped in the early 2000s over the aborted Sammy Gravano Arizona hit.

Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
Imo if Cacace wants back in the family will embrace him. They can use all the experienced guys they can get.
Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
It was so long ago I doubt IMO he would have any ramifications from anyone, Plus the guy murdered a NYPD officer and a federal Judge, Well ,the father. This guy is killing federal judges/Prosecutors. Wtf? This guy thinks he's in Italy or some 3rd world country and I'm shocked he wasn't jailed for life plus 100 years in ADX,, Or the death penalty ! When all this occurred was he in the administration? Cacace is a lifer and dedicated fully to the Life , He probably gets the number 2 behind Russo when he hits the streets , Who knows with all the Colombo nut cases possibly on the streets at the same time if they last that long outside we could possibly see a 3rd Colombo war ! , teddy, Cacace, The Russo's and others all out n about who knows?gohnjotti wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 4:11 pm The beef with Teddy Persico Jr. occurred in the 1980s, when Teddy Jr. was a mere associate/soldier and Cacace was a captain. Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
I seriously doubt there’d be any civil war with Cacace and Persico Jr., unless Ben Castellazzo’s men are willing to go to the mattresses. Other than Castellazzo and his guys, and maybe Joe Baudanza’s crw, Cacace doesn’t really have a huge following under him. He’s always been a sort-of standalone figure in the family, if that makes any sense.
Things are different now that the family is a lot more Persico-oriented with the exception of a couple of capos and crews.

Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
I don't expect any violence. The guy will be 79 at the time of release. The situation in the family changed drastically in the last decade and who knows what's up with them since The Snake kicked the bucket. Add on top of that the three years of supervised release he'll most likely have to abide by and I'm not sure how active that leaves him, let alone planning coups or participating in modern gang wars.
Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
I agree, I dont think there would be another war . But, Your right as Cacace being a Stand alone, But, The guy is one Treacherous,Calculating, Cold blooded, slick character and has balls ! He'll be much older when released but he definitely seems like the type who thinks he's owed something, Or deserves to be at the top in the administration at some capacity .Guys on the street definitely fear Cacace, His Treachery is legendary and I think he's all in 110% till the day he dies . Reminds me of a Sonny Franzese type, And not even Sonny Murdered Cops and federal Prosecutorsgohnjotti wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 6:01 pm I seriously doubt there’d be any civil war with Cacace and Persico Jr., unless Ben Castellazzo’s men are willing to go to the mattresses. Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
How many times did him and the Grim reaper go at it head to head, Literally ?? That shoot out witnesses said him and Greg had from literally less than 5 feet away from each other is nuts and sounds like something out of a Gangster Comedy/Parody ,Forgot which older comedy movie had 2 mob guys shooting at each other from like 2 feet from one another lol...?Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 5:18 pmI agree, I dont think there would be another war . Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
Cacace certainly does have a rep on the street, evidenced by the fact that his sons were named in court papers as shaking down his father’s old bookies and card game operators.
Cacace has dodged far more bullets than the average mobster, but the narrative that he switched to the Persico side after a near miss by Scarpa isn’t true. Cacace was actually on the Orena faction ruling panel in 1994.

Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
was It 2 sons, Or 3 ? I know one of his sons died about 2-3 years ago from a heart attack. And, I think one of the almost whackings of Cacace by Scarpa was when he rolled up on Cacace and his Tec 9 jammed . Then the other, Or was that the one Scarpa and Cacace had the 4 foot shoot out against one another behind parked cars where Cacace was hit in the stomach ? There was also the attempted hit and shootout I think in the florist, Or leaving the florist shop, Was that Scarpa also ? I cant remember off the top of my headgohnjotti wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 5:29 pm Cacace certainly does have a rep on the street, evidenced by the fact that his sons were named in court papers as shaking down his father’s old bookies and card game operators.

Re: Joel Cacace - 2020 Release
It was two sons, Joel "JoJo" Cacace and Steven Cacace. JoJo died four years ago, and Steven is still alive. Steven and their mom are now being accused of trying to steal JoJo's will from his 17-year-old daughter.Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 9:18 pmwas It 2 sons, Or 3 ?
