Mob Talk Sitdown 33
https://youtu.be/tLlk_7XbHd8
From this new edition of Mob Talk:
At a making ceremony about 10 years ago, 4 guys (including Salvatore Pelullo, Anthony Persiano and Salvatore Piccolo) are inducted into the Luchese family allegedly after being okayed by the imprisoned Nicky Scarfo Sr, with the ceremony being conducted by an 'old timer'. The ceremony was allegedly conducted as a reward for their involvement in the First Plus Scam. Anastasia adds it's unclear whether they were made into the Lucheses, Philadelphia or just 'in their own mind'.
Mention a making ceremony confirmed by Anastasia (presumably the 2015 ceremony) which occured at the wedding of an associate's daughter.
A similar making ceremony may have taken place at a christening in the late 1990s. Previte was wired up and sent in but the content of the recordings was never released so it's ambiguous as to what that was.
Schratwieser adds that 15 to 17 guys have been made since 2001. That's very likely the first ceremony of 5 carried out by Ligambi, the Esposito and Fazzini ceremony in 2007, the three guys that got made after Mazzone got off supervised release and the last batch of 5 in 2015. That takes it up to 15, leaving the other 2 as the ambiguity over Persiano and Piccolo's status.
Adds that the new ceremonies are like 'pop-ups' where only a couple of guys know beforehand so the feds can't get wind of it in advance.

This is old news the guy over on bb told a few of us over a year ago.
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
Good stuff. Makes sense that they were originally made into the Lukes, especially Pelullo for his involvement in that scam. Also makes sense that Philly would put in a beef that the Lukes were making guys who were never released from Philly.
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
I'm usually on the same page as Anastasia but I don't know where he's coming from here .
First, if the feds consider Pelullo, Persiano and Piccolo as made, there's good reason for it. Previte is a bad comparison because the whole question of him being made simply came from him not going through a ceremony. And we all know how and when Natale was made, regardless of the fairy tales he made up later on.
Second, participation in a murder not being a requirement isn't exactly new. Back in the early 1990s, Freselone said as long as a guy was an earner, the family didn't care if he had never seen a gun.
The 15-17 guys made since 2001 is interesting. But looking at the chart, twice that many have died over that time period.

Seems odd that GA would know that the making ceremony took place but can't confirm whether it was a Philly or Luchese or if it was a official ceremony.

Will be interesting to see Natale's FOIA files. Curious to know how much of his Bruno stories can be verified by FBI/local cop files. Does the surveillance record support his narrative?

They've all been id'd as philly soldiers, no?
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
That’s what I believed true... hasn’t George A even mentioned I know for sure persiano as made in Philly and piccolo also... cause he was saying how it could affect future indictments . The only one who makes any sense to ge with the lukes would be Pellulo, since he was right with jr. and sr. And jr. was with the Luke’s. Who knows now. Weird .
Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
Persiano and Piccolo were reporting to Grande, it’s pretty evident the guys downtown recognized them.

Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
The way Licata made it sound, Fazzini and Esposito’s ceremony sounded pretty formal.

Re: Mob Talk Sitdown 33
Yeah there’s was formal. “Above a butcher in south Philly”according to the Licata/Fizzini detention memo. This is probably more in reference to post-2011 ceremonies.
