Outfit Rankings
Now I know this chart is somewhat old and im not asking about the people in the chart because I know alot are dead or retired. Im interested in the rankings in the outfit, which have always been quite different.
My question is this:
Is it true that each capo in the outfit had/has "streetbosses", righthand men/mini capos working under him, adding another layer of crew adminstration as suggested in this chart?
I know that because the outfit was one large family, and it only had a handful of crews, each crew truly was like a medium sized family in its own right, hence the referral to the chicago "bosses".

Re: Outfit Rankings
It depends on what time period you're talking about. The organizational structure changed pretty drastically throughout the Outfit's history.
Re: Outfit Rankings
There was nothing left of that crew after Palermo went away in 1991.
Re: Outfit Rankings
Do you know anything about the structure of your average outfit crew? Is it like one on the east coast with the capo, maybe one made guy that acts as an unofficial right hand guy, and soldiers then associates? Or were the crews typically larger so they had "streetboss" type positions in each crew to help manage things, as suggested in the chart.

Re: Outfit Rankings
The way I understood it was that at least in the old days, the Outfit was structured with 4 main Territories. Those 4 main territories were North, West, South & Far South. You could say that the Boss of each large territory was an "underboss" in the Outfit. Under that big Territory Boss were street bosses who were in charge of smaller areas or were Juice men. Under them were maybe a couple top right hand men (maybe one was bookmaking & the other was loan sharking) and then under them were crew members who worked for them on a salary or commission. If they did something on the side, they had to get permission and them kick up something.Moscone65 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 5:57 pmDo you know anything about the structure of your average outfit crew? Interesting, so it seems the structure of that chart is more or less accurate, perhaps just with different position titles.Confederate wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 6:10 pmThe way I understood it was that at least in the old days, the Outfit was structured with 4 main Territories. I don’t get it! That chart represents the Chicago membership in 2010 correct? How is it in 9 short years that they went from that huge list of membership to what’s guys are listing now in 2019?....... 25/35 mob guys!Moscone65 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 4:54 pm Now I know this chart is somewhat old and im not asking about the people in the chart because I know alot are dead or retired. Saying that they’re hanging on by a thread?

That chart looks pretty robust to me guys! How is that possible?
Re: Outfit Rankings
Anyone who ever shook hands with an Outfit guy is on there.
Re: Outfit Rankings
That's just it. The last 20-30 years? If the feds had the Outfit at 30 members at most, and a little over 100 associates, in 2007, that chart doesn't exactly paint an accurate picture. It has twice as many members and God knows how many "associates" listed.
It's a nice looking chart and one can appreciate the work that went into it. But the Outfit, especially over the past 20 years, has not been that big or hierarchical. In fact, the Outfit of today is no bigger than the families in New England or Philadelphia.
All roads lead to New York.

Re: Outfit Rankings
So Snakes, that list is not accurate if I understand you correctly? What is it, they had a lot of half-assed associates listed there also?

Seriously dissecting it, what percentage would be accurate as far as actual “members” go? Not including any associates regardless of strength ?

Re: Outfit Rankings
Very nice looking chart, but as Snakes pointed out, it's inaccurate. It has 60+ listed made members. In 2007 the feds had them at 28 with roughly 100 associates. As far as I know, we don't have any solid information about new inductees or making ceremonies taking place since then. If that is indeed the case, they have (at most) 20 active guys currently.

Re: Outfit Rankings
Didn’t realize they were that small....... 20 guys? That’s like one regime in NY, maybe two
Re: Outfit Rankings
Even in the 80s they probably only had 45-50 members at their largest.

Re: Outfit Rankings
Their presence then was mostly through associates I guess correct? Because I’ve seen those early charts with a lot of guys listed....but a small core membership I see. Somewhat unique
