Re: QUESTION FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS:
Always kinda felt like Paul Castellano was ahead of his time in realizing they needed to move on from the street rackets
Re: QUESTION FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS:
I would submit that anyone who "successfully" fit into any or all of those categories would be someone no one ever heard of. If they were successful in Cosa Nostra, Ndrangheta or Camorra while living and carrying out the tenets of those organizations, then I would imagine they would exist way below the radar screen and be virtually unknown. Unless they turned and revealed what they knew. Buscetta comes to mind. In fact I would say he fits in more than a few of the listed categories. But that was after he revealed himself to Judge Falcone. I would also submit the answer to these questions exists in Italy and maybe Canada as well as other international locations by extension but not in the U.S. All questions except for the question "Who did the most jail time." The answer to that is also international but I am sure the U.S. has more than a few strong candidates.maxiestern11 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 5:14 pm QUESTION FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS:

Well there's a quantitative answer here somewhere because someone was the richest. Most researchers say Al Capone but Fat Tony is listed in many honorable mentions, but of course that was probably Chin's money. I've read that Chin's relatives are doing pretty well today. We're talking the 80's construction boom in Manhattan. The richest?
Accardo. Wealthy himself and just a couple of nights in jail. No prison. Died old and naturally.Who had the best career?
Good question, actually. Are there any made guys who literally spent most of their lives behind bars in both juvi and prison?Who did the most jail time?
Michael Spilotro. Having a mobster brother getting me acting gigs and I end up in the shallow grave with him. That you’d be if you were gonna be a mobster?
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”

I neglected to mention in my previous post that my comments are my personal opinion based on sheer speculation. My opinion could far off base and I could have possibly misunderstood the question/s.z23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:16 amI would submit that anyone who "successfully" fit into any or all of those categories would be someone no one ever heard of. There can be only one. Sonny Franzese.
(Although Carmine the Snake Persico would be a very close contender). The Colombos are specialized in doing time.
The smartest mobster would be someone who a. didn't get himself killed and b. never got caught. Basically someone we may not have heard about.

Re: QUESTION FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS:
Big paul didnt start that and the mob never moved on from street rackets even when big paul was boss of all gambino Bosses. The big paul benefitted from the street guys who were working the legit world angle from way before. If anything big paul fucked it all up on account a his greed. Putting a scope on the construction, concrete, meat and chicken industry. Mob might have lasted longer in the garment district if the gambinos had spread the wealth amd not monopolize trucking with consolidated.
