On a radio show today a host talked about the movie with a critic, the host (Mark Simone) said he talked to a lot or former FBI agents and OC prosecutors, and they all said Sheeran was lying.

I dont care if the whole movie is fiction. Scorsese, DeNiro and Pesci back together, with Pacino to boot. That alone makes it worth watching. Its just a movie for crying out loud. All bio pics are loose with the facts. Some people really need to pick better battles.

We found out so much about Henry Hill and the Vario crew since Goodfellas came out that that movie might as well be a fictional tale too. Not to mention Pesci's character doubled for one of Vario's sons, such as in most of the scenes where Tommy and Hill are hanging out. Hill hardly ever went out with DeSimone. He was scared to death of him.
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”

It's quite a stretch saying 'loose with the facts' when this guy has made significant claims. Goodfellas was 'loose with some facts' but a lot of it did actually happen while Sheeran's claims are hardly, if at all, substantiated.

Saying all bio pics are loose with the facts is also quite a stretch as there are some that are considered accurate. Are you saying that you did meticulous research into the accuracy of all bio pics?

Agreed. Those 4 actors are iconic IMO (and in the opinion of most people)! It should become a movie “classic” as many of their other movies became. Fiction or not! ....Sheeran was full of BS..... but I’m looking forward to this movie. Interested to see the “aging” technology they used as well

Scorsese is doing another mob movie, and that's just awesome. Who cares if not every single thing that happened in the movie can be substantiated with concrete evidence? It's a movie. Sit back and enjoy it. Scorsese and DeNiro are back. That's all that matters.

Well they made the announcement that they aren't going to show it in theaters now only on Netflix because Netflix wouldn't wait 60-90 before putting it on Netflix. They only wanted to give the theaters 30 days.

I didn't hear that. Just the other day the paper said "instead of a wide release, the much-anticipated movie will see a limited release in select independent theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Nov. 1. “The Irishman” will then branch out to other theaters before its Netflix premiere on Nov. 27."

By other theaters I think they mean other independent theaters. It was with Cineplex and AMC or whAtever that insisted on the 90 day exclusive window.

Jesus. Let me get this straight. Pacino is playing Hoffa? Not Pesci?? Deniro should have played bufalino. Pacino should be scarfo in another movie.

Max Casella from the Sopranos (Benny Fazio, criminal mastermind) would make a good Scarfo I think.

Everybody Hurts was another classic. The Frenchman ripping Artie's earring out.

Sopranos writer Frank Renzulli did an interview with one of the fan podcasts and told the back story about the basis for Richie Aprile and Dave Scatino. It was based on guys in Boston. Pretty funny.

Going to be interesting to see how this affects both the streaming and theater industries.

An excerpt from Pistone’s book. He states that Joe Coffay and Capeci both agreed Sheeran shot Gallo. Bufalino’s closest friend and the person who represented his family on the commission was Joe Columbo.
