Hi all,
As the five families and chicago were essentially in the process of being formed, has anyone been able to figure out the other factions during that time?
I know in Chicago you had the north side mob and other gangs operating in chicago, but what about new york? Was frankie yale the only independent gang (five points?) operating outside if gangsters under LCN's flag?

In NYC and NJ there were numerous mobs: The Dutch Schultz Gang, Vincent Coll Gang, Frankie Yale - interconnected with The Navy Street Mob (Camorra), the Calabrese - [who some say were affiliated with the Napolitano Camorra, but some say no - they too were called the Camorra, but their official name was murky,Etna wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 4:04 am Hi all,

interchangeably called Camorra or The Honored Society....... it’s funny because until recent years, I’d never heard them called the N’drangheta!]..... you had the Bugs & Meyer Mob (Lansky-Siegel), Waxy Gordon, Lepke Buchalter, you had the Irish Westside “Arsenal Mob”, Owney Madden, you had a small Greek mob, Nig Rosen and his crew, Longy Zwillman in NJ, etc....... some were huge mobs, some were smaller gangs, but they all played a part in the mob landscape of that era!

Re: 1920s-1930s
you must keep in your mind that the names mafia, camorra and ndrangheta are not used by these criminal groups, they are just names given by the newspapers, camorra is a generic term to to identify the extortionist groups of the bourbon prisons of the early nineteenth century, mafia is a term used for the first time in 1865, before the sicilian mafia was named simply 'the sect'...The first time we hear the term ndrangheta is from the writer corrado alvaro in an article in the corriere della sera of september 1955... there are several turncoats who said they all three are the same organization under the command of a supercupola led by both mafia members, freemansons and secret servicesmaxiestern11 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 5:56 am In NYC and NJ there were numerous mobs: The Dutch Schultz Gang, Vincent Coll Gang, Frankie Yale - interconnected with The Navy Street Mob (Camorra), the Calabrese - [who some say were affiliated with the Napolitano Camorra, but some say no - they too were called the Camorra, but their official name was murky,
