Connecticut members Thomas LaSelva, Anthony LaSelva and Joseph "Pippi" Gierriero were still alive in 1985. Don't know if the crew itself was still around though.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Were there two Matty Ianniello's who were NY captains? I thought Matty the Horse was Genovese.Cheech wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 7:41 am CC and i are putting a new chart together. Looking for everyone's help. any mistakes? any additions?
at first it was only going to be based off Gambino and Genovese presence in Fairfield county. CC and I decided to throw in New England as well. Connecticut has always been a hodge podge of families with everyone working together.

Re: New chart - need forum help
In 1985, Bronx-based capo Buster Ardito would still be in control of the Genovese Family's operations in Connecticut. But he and I think mostly all of the top guys were imprisoned, under indictment, or both. Look at the Ardito/Pollina/Basso indictment, which showed their operations from 1980 to the summer 1984 I think. Pollina is a soldier under Ardito who supervises Connecticut operations for him. Basso controlled a sizeable portion of illegal in Bridgeport. But again, I'm pretty sure all 3 were in prison by the time of the indictment. Same with the Curcios.
Franny Curcio and his loansharks: Dahill D'Onofrio (Stratford) Edward Vagnini (Stratford) and Roberto Garcia (Bridgeport) are all serving time for loansharking at the time. Gus Curcio is serving those sentences for loansharking/extortion/etc. that totaling 27 years. Didn't get out until 2003 (around the same time the FBI said Ardito was planning his resurgence in CT). Not a pretty year for the Westside to say the least.
