Guys who had their 5k1’s pulled
Just finished Carlo’s book about Casso and it got me thinking. Who else flipped but ended up getting life anyway because the Feds reneged on their deal or for any other reason? In my opinion I don’t think Casso was any worse than a few guys who ended up getting 10yrs or less. Thoughts??

Even though it was many decades earlier (in 1921), Bartolomeo Fontana's case comes to mind: he flipped on everybody involved in the Caiozzo murder, but was the only one getting prison time.

He’s not a Italian but Griselda Blanco’s top hitman, Jorge Ayala, was given life in prison. He was involved in like 40 murders. He cooperated for a reduced sentence but they ripped up the deal when they found out he’d been having phone sex with someone at the Miami Dade county court office. I think he’s actually up for parole this year, though. He’s been locked up for 25 years already.

I believe Colombo member Reynold Maragni had his deal rescinded. He was caught turning his wire on and off and warning some of his targets that he was wired.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

It’s impossible to ever know for sure but I’d love to know what major guys the Feds thought for sure was going to cooperate, and maybe even agreed to cooperate, but ultimately decided against it.

They never ended up rescinding his deal, they just chose not to call him as a witness in any more trials. He still got a time served sentence by the end of it.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 7:54 pm I believe Colombo member Reynold Maragni had his deal rescinded. It’s not nearly the same thing but Phil Leonetti was initially promised a new identity by the Feds which they later reneged on.

I thought that was unbelievable, The guy is wired up and telling people hes wired up and they do absolutely nothing ! I mean, They'd all get life for attempting to kill a government witness and supposed confidential informant ,But that to me IMO made the mob, Or that family a literal laughing stock ! What criminal, Or Organized crime group would allow that , Especially the supposed biggest and baddest, Still supposedly the most strongest and most enduring Organized crime group in the U.S. and in some peoples minds, The world to allow a made member and captain at that continually go around to numerous meetings and warn people, Hey Shhhh be quiet I'm wired up over here ! Smh.lol....Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 7:54 pm I believe Colombo member Reynold Maragni had his deal rescinded. I think he only showed Dennis Cinnante, his Florida-based loansharking partner and close friend. He definitely didn't show any actual Mafia guys.Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:59 pmI thought that was unbelievable, The guy is wired up and telling people hes wired up and they do absolutely nothing ! I was good friends with two of his nephews, Both brothers, I asked them what they thought of the whole thing with him doing what he did, They laughed, Didnt really care too much, They're both legit and have Zero to do with that life or OC in general. They hate all that mob crap and really had nothing good to say about Ren . They would rant that he was a complete and total scumbag weasel to anyone around him including his family who he supposedly fucked out of money a few times in horrible scams and waysgohnjotti wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 10:21 pmI think he only showed Dennis Cinnante, his Florida-based loansharking partner and close friend. Yep, I think part of the reason why he flipped was because there were tapes/charges in which he was scamming his friends/associates. The biggest example that springs to mind in the indictment was how he promised everybody he had a connection to the Gov. of Florida and, for a price, could get people pardoned and released from prison.Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 11:48 pmI was good friends with two of his nephews, Both brothers, I asked them what they thought of the whole thing with him doing what he did, They laughed, Didnt really care too much, They're both legit and have Zero to do with that life or OC in general.
