Re: Frank Fresca murder
Definitely
Re: Frank Fresca murder
The story is form 11 years ago, so the answer may be known for certain by now. It could have been personal dispute of a mob killing.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 7:01 am https://nypost.com/2008/08/02/mob-going ... ay-eatery/
Anyone believe this was mob related?

If i was to guess, I’d say Fresca had stopped paying tribute to the Bonannos and that’s what sealed his fate. I read somewhere that he had been struggling financially so that could have something to do with his murder.

Re: Frank Fresca murder
And they say there are no mob murders anymore... things were going strong up until very recently seems more reasonable
Re: Frank Fresca murder
Yeah it’s just the made men that aren’t getting clipped anymore
Seems in regards to associates at least 1 or 2 murders a year are mob related.
If it’s wasnt for recent NJ legalizing gambling then this period could of been a modern day goldi locks period. I think even Micky Scars said this .
No random murders , huge expanding gambling networks that gave them access to large amounts of cash for other investments, Reduction in LE budgets, less time in jail
And sweat heart pleas due to no murders indictments, influence in unions / constructions seems to be on upswings.
Sure less $ but not for all ( especially top gambling crews) but much lower chance of being killed or serving a sentence above 5-7 years.
If in 10 years legal sports gambling takes majority of the market share then that will have a bigger impact on their decline then 10 x current LE budget.
In NJ/ NJ the Mob was never going to go away as had billion dollar gambling networks. Now I’m not so sure, I could see the Pernas being very nervous in jail on what they come home too. Some of these old time west side NJ guys could of timed their retirement perfect.

Agree with most of what your saying but the guys who bet with bookies aren’t the same clientele going to be attracted t legal sports betting. Can’t beat betting with credit till you get a few teeth knocked out...TommyNoto wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 12:54 pm Yeah it’s just the made men that aren’t getting clipped anymore

Re: Frank Fresca murder
Frank Fresca was also bangin some wiseguys girlfriend from what i remember where he caught a beatdown for it at his restaurant. Maybe the cause.. because at that time is when the whole crew that provided protection to him was crumbling due to pressure from the Mcelvey murder.

Very possible but it’s also possible volumes dwindle over many years like the policy racket.Mason_dixon wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 3:30 pmAgree with most of what your saying but the guys who bet with bookies aren’t the same clientele going to be attracted t legal sports betting. It’s amazing how resilient these guys are but gambling is their top racket and gives them the $ and time to figure out other schemes. It supports so many guys and keeps it together
I’m amazed with how quickly NJ got their operation up so quickly , borderline amazing IMO what they did . Must have caught Wiseguys off guard .

The wiseguys name was Joseph Catapano. Don’t know what family he was connected to.Jbravo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 5:05 pm Frank Fresca was also bangin some wiseguys girlfriend from what i remember where he caught a beatdown for it at his restaurant. Re: Frank Fresca murder
They won't kill a struggling guy over that IMO. The fucking a guys girlfriend thing is more likely. If he was doing that, he wasn't too smart.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 11:00 am If i was to guess, I’d say Fresca had stopped paying tribute to the Bonannos and that’s what sealed his fate. Anyone know if Joseph Catapano is related to Colombo mobster Michael Catapano?
