I have often been curious about how Locascio became part of Gotti's inner circle.

It would be interesting to know if Frankie Loc was in on backing Gotti on the Big Paulie hit. I would think he was, seeing he was in his administration later on. It's funny the blow up between Gotti and Loc was over an Orange.

Yeah, that was Gravano's account. Locascio stole some oranges, kept one for himself, gave one to Gravano, and the rest to Gotti. But because he had given Gravano his orange first, that upset Gotti and he layed into Locascio so hard that Locascio was actually in tears later. Supposedly, at that point both had enough of Gotti and agreed to have him killed if they all got out.

Yeah I watched the Diane Sawyer-Sammy Gravano a few years ago and I remember Sammy alluding to that story. Lol, freaking crazy.

Gravano is a scumbag for many reasons but one thing that interview highlighted that made Gotti look really incompetent is the fact that Feds has wired Gravano’s office building and a few other spots he worked out of. They had like hundreds of hours worth of tapes of Gravano but he never once implicated himself or anyone else in any crime. They had just 6 hours of Gotti talking at the Ravenite and he not only implicated himself but several other people, too. Smh ameteur hour type stuff.

Gotti was a shitty boss, was never groomed properly for the position. I think he had to do what he did to stay alive, and it took balls to do it. When you see old pics and surveillance of Gotti before he became boss, there are ones where he's wearing suits (not as fancy) and others where he's casually dressed. He definitely ramped it up after taking over and never seemed to be caught without a Brioni suit.

Thanks. He probably should've waited things out, maybe go into hiding or something, till Paulie went away for life. If he remained a Capo, he probably would have been better off.

Mike Magnifichi Chicago Outfit member that is on the shelf used to do podcasts with Joe Fosco. I liked watching them, he had some interesting stories to tell. On one he said him and some other Outfit guys were in the same restaurant in Florida as Gotti and his entorage. Mike has to use the bathroom and while in there Gotti comes in with his body guards. Magnifichi introduces himself. I know B it wasn't proper protocol, and to make it short Magnifichi comments about even body guards follow you to the restroom. Gotti says yes it's ridiculous. But that was how high profile Gotti was,in that the publicknew what he looked like and not to mention The Chin and others were not happy campers with what he did.

He was NOT boss material!.... never was. Tough guy, pretty decent earner, loyal to Neil and generally well liked... but he had a very bad ego, bad mouth, thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, didn’t respect other guys, tried to push his weight around, would talk behind your back - EVEN FRIENDS - and ultimately ....... completely disrespected this life by killing a boss! Backdooring his oath by dealing dope, and a hundred other bad things he did!.....,, NOT the least of which was killing a lot of really good guys during his tenure as boss who never shoulda gotten hurt!..... made a good soldier or even a skipper. But NEVER boss material period!

I always thought Gotti's style of dress seemed forced and unnatural. Scarfo snd Merlino were much better at pulling it off.
