I don’t see how with this type of revenue generated the Family became defunct. Obviously it wasn’t a priority of extending its livlihood with past leadership, but still. This type of operation was being sustained, well managed, and extremely productive by just one small group. Imagine if you had more.

There was definitely more operating:NothingNew44 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 2:29 pm I don’t see how with this type of revenue generated the Family became defunct. Sonny Ciancutti was operating into 2008. Jeff Risha, The Williams aka Guglielmo Brothers, Frank Unis Jr., Larry Amodie just to name a few.
Mike Genovese only made 5 guys during his reign to replenish the ranks...like many other smaller families, the old timers weren’t very keen on bringing in new blood.

Yea I understand that. The smaller Families lived by the ethos of “the less mouths to feed the more full our bellies will be”. It makes sense, but clearly it’s looking at a situation in a micro sense versus a macro one. But then again why worry about the continuation of the institution if you’re not going to be around? Even if there’s always a market for illegitimate business.

If someone came in and tried to shake down everyone they die In prison , there all rats , the need for a family in Pittsburgh is long gone ,they have lost there strangel hold on the unions , you cant exactly whack people anymore . so what service would the mob provide ? what would be the benefit to pay them? there gone and aint coming back , basically why do you need the mob ? you can run the shit your self and get slapped on the wristNothingNew44 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 2:29 pm I don’t see how with this type of revenue generated the Family became defunct. I’m not sure and it has never been confirmed that that is the reason smaller families didn’t make many guys in the later years. I’ve communicated with an FBI agent in Pittsburgh over the years who is now retired and he stated that in New York, you still had Italians migrating there in the 1950s and 60s as kids whereas a lot of the smaller cities, especially in the Rust Belt, Most of the immigration stopped in the 1930s and 1940s there for depleting a large pool of candidates. Food for thoughtNothingNew44 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 8:14 pm Yea I understand that. The smaller Families lived by the ethos of “the less mouths to feed the more full our bellies will be”. He had an ROR (Release on own Recognizance). He never skipped bail in 6 decades. This will get plea bargained and from what I hear, he’s got doctors coming out of the woodwork working on medical postponementsFrank wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 12:41 pmI might of overlooked it, but is Bobby released on bail?!JCB1977 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 12:26 pm Update on trial scheduled for November 4, 2019

Ok thank you. I find his case interesting. At his age he seems to be earning some big money.JCB1977 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:21 pmHe had an ROR (Release on own Recognizance). Re: Bobby Iannelli aka Bobby I Indicted with son Pittsburgh
He’s been a multimillionaire since the 1970’s. I know he’s been involved with gambling in his later years but his son had taken a prominent role in the organization, I never thought he was pulling the strings. $40-$50k per week just in football season along with a multimillion dollar numbers operation still going strong shocked me. And ironically, Chubb’s Place is still the drop point. I give the old man credit.Frank wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:32 pmOk thank you. I find his case interesting. According to former Pennsylvania Governor and U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburg, Bobby Iannelli was the first case ever tried in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania based on wiretaps from the Organized Crime Control Act.
