Chicago/NYC silly question.

Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
Weren’t the dinunzios hiding out in Chicago because of heat back home?
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
I believe they were originally associated with New England. I think Jerry Angiulo put out a contract on them. I believe they fled to California. I believe they became Outfit associates or possibly LA. Got busted with members of the Outfit and others. I forgot who they met in prison, but I believe whoever it was got them back in good standing with New England.
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
Not to be a nit picker, but if the scenario did happen that Chicago did make some contact with NY about a change in leadership, it would have probably happened years before DiFronzo's death, since he did have Alzheimers.Ozgoz wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:35 am So when John DiFronzo died I really can’t imagine that Vena, or DeLaurentis fished out his little black book and ran an index finger down to B and called Bellomo to inform of the change in personnel.
I just don’t see it. Surely national communication between Chicago and the north east is dead now?
Who would even be the link? It’s a stupid question but it’s sort of not, if you try and trace back to who or when those last links would’ve been maintained up unto.
Not to mention even making contact would be used in a Rico as evidence.

He moved back to New York and was indicted with the Gambinos in 2008. Just to jog your memory, it’s on your 5 Families Indictments list.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:23 pm
Bonanno Soldier Vincent "Elmo" Amarante was living in and operating a strip club in Chicongo in the early 2000s. Don't know if that is still the case or how long that lasted.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Thank you. I forgot the specifics of the DiNunzios. But I remember they were in the same case as Petti and DiFronzo. Do you remember who it was, and I'm thinking that it was Snake Perisco, that they were in prison with, that got them back in good standing in New England. I'll have to try to find where I read that.Stroccos wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 10:46 amthey worked for chris petti in caliFrank wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:39 pmI believe they were originally associated with New England. Also it's not a slam dunk that DeLaurentis is the top boss of the Outfit as the first I read in 2014 is that Joe the builder Andriacchi was the new top boss of the Outfit, having taken over for John DiFronzo. It was also the first report of DiFronzo having Alzheimers.Another side note was it stated Andriacchi now held a position only previously held by 4 men in Outfit history. Ricca, Accardo, Aiuppa and DiFronzo. I don't put all my eggs in one basket in these different reports about Outfit leadership. But I thought it possible. Then months later it came out the DeLaurentis reports came out and it was reported that DiFronzo had Alzheimers.Ozgoz wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:35 am So when John DiFronzo died I really can’t imagine that Vena, or DeLaurentis fished out his little black book and ran an index finger down to B and called Bellomo to inform of the change in personnel.

I remember something like that as well . Didn't the Dinunzios have to lay low due to the war, Killings, Hits and power struggle in the 90's between the Boston and Rhode island factions? I remember reading that too, That the Dinunzios were in Chicago under Chicago wiseguys operating in the Auto/Chop shop business, Insurance fraud and gambling until the war died down and the fallout from everything, People being killed, Turning rat, Others being sent to prison, And with certain Chi.wiseguys and the backing and protection of Chicago then went back to Boston/Rhode Island and took the Throne and basically remained on top ever since. Damn, I dont remember where I read all that either but I guess if you research enough it can be found
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
I also remember after staying protected in Chicago for an amount of time where they gained a great reputation and a Partnership and big Powerbase they then returned more powerful than ever along with a safety guarantee and the rest is history . Supposedly they were marked for death at the time and had to leaveBklyn21 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 2:43 pmI remember something like that as well . And , I think it was from Chicago they went off to L.A. backed and protected by Chicago. Or straight off to L.A. whatever ....I think they were involved with a supposed take over of a Casino in Cali, El rincon? Along with Sammy Carlisi as the head of the family/Ring/Takeover which I think they were all eventually indicted
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
Just reread some info about the DiNunzios. Born in Boston. Associates of NE family. In 1983 Jerry Angiulo put a contract on Carmen DiNunzio for shaking down another Angiulo protogee Vincent Dee Dee Gioacchini. So the brothers fled out west, became associates of Tony Spillotro and others. After Spillotro was killed the DiNunzios were put in charge of collecting all outstanding debts owed to Spillotro. They were indicted along with Outfit boss Sam Carlisi, underboss John DiFronzo, Don Angellini, and Petitt in the Rincon case in 1992. While in prison they befriended a contingent of influence heavy New York wiseguys. This led them to regain their standing in the NE mob.Bklyn21 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 2:43 pmI remember something like that as well . Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
The DiNunzio's would've been pretty young to have been working with Spilotro. Shit, Anthony would've been in his late 20's, but the time Tony was killed
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
Silly D did use Bruce Cutler as his lawyer when he went to jail in the 90’s.
Re: Chicago/NYC silly question.
I have not come across any info of them ever being involved in the Outfits chop shop business in Chicago. They were bookies and collectors in Vegas and Cal. The 1992 Rincon indictment reveals that the DiNunzios were assigned in the late 80s to collect all debts owed to Tony Spillotro.
