Re: Jimmy Hoffa search in Hillsdale the other day
HILLSDALE TOWNSHIP — Investigators with the Michigan State Police searched a parcel of land in Hillsdale Township Thursday morning acting on a tip in the 1975 disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa.
Detectives with the Michigan State Police Jackson Post and Jonesville Detachment received the tip from a Jackson woman who inherited the parcel of land when her father passed away. She claimed to have family ties to the American Mafia.
The detectives, forensic anthropologists and an MSP K-9 handler with dogs trained in alerting to the presence of cadavers were on site Thursday morning.
Steel rods were utilized to aerate the entirety of the property before the dog was deployed to conduct a search with negative results.
Hoffa, the former president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, disappeared from a Bloomfield Township restaurant on July 30, 1975. He was reportedly there to meet with two known American Mafia leaders when he disappeared.
Hoffa was declared legally dead in 1982 and the case went cold with sporadic information leading investigators to searches of a home in Detroit where Hoffa was reported to have been buried under a driveway. Searches were also conducted in Roseville, Michigan and Oakland County.

yeah the guy is ashes, best case scenario they might be able to scrape some DNA off a cremator some day, but other than that they really need to hang it the fuck upFughedaboutit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 8:08 am Why continue to waste resources? That body is long gone lol

What a coincidence. The movie about him is coming out later this year. I wonder if someone at Netflix corporate called the authorities in that area and gave them an "anonymous tip".
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”
Re: Jimmy Hoffa search in Hillsdale the other day
Agreed, they didn't bury him anywhere. He was incinerated or compacted in a car at some scrap yard. Best lead thus far was Frank Sheeran. The house he brought the Feds to was very likely the site of the murder although the DNA tests came back inconclusive. Blood was in the exact spot that he led investigators to. After he was killed, it's anybody's guess where and how they disposed of him but no way did they bury the body.Ivan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 9:03 amyeah the guy is ashes, best case scenario they might be able to scrape some DNA off a cremator some day, but other than that they really need to hang it the fuck up.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 8:08 am Why continue to waste resources? The investigation subsequently yielded his corroboration, the suspected blood evidence on the hardwood floor and down the hallway of that house, that supports Frank's story. No one who has ever boasted about knowing what really happened to Jimmy Hoffa has had their claims tested, scrutinized, and then corroborated by independently discovered evidence... except Frank. The FBI admits that Frank was "known to be in Detroit area at the time of Hoffa's disappearance." Hoffa's son, current Teamsters President James P. Hoffa, said in September 2001 that his father would have gotten into the car with Frank. He said that his father would not have taken that ride with some of the other FBI suspects whom were mentioned.

Re: Jimmy Hoffa search in Hillsdale the other day
Someone mentioned a made guy that had a funeral home within 10 miles or so of there with the ability to cremate a body, smart play and most likely scenario imo
Detroit for their small size and scope had some really well planned out hits. Hoffa, and the "suicide" of the one guy with 2 shots to the back of the head lol

Agreed, there are thousands of missing people who's families can't get much help for missing loved ones, yet Hoffa is long dead but any hint of anything and they have teams digging. Everyone wants to be the ones to find his remains and become famous. He's more searched for than The Missing Link or life on other planets.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 8:08 am https://www.hillsdale.net/news/20190620 ... -cold-case

If you're referring to the David Widlak death, he wasn't shot twice. Just the one time I believe.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 4:40 pm Someone mentioned a made guy that had a funeral home within 10 miles or so of there with the ability to cremate a body, smart play and most likely scenario imo

I thought it was the guy that owned the house where Hoffa might have met his end, started mouthing off then had a mysterious suicide, but I could be remembering wrong.Adam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 7:58 amIf you're referring to the David Widlak death, he wasn't shot twice. Ah. You're thinking Carlo Licata. Carlo is still listed as a suicide, but he's listed as shooting himself in the chest. But also I believe only once.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 10:51 amI thought it was the guy that owned the house where Hoffa might have met his end, started mouthing off then had a mysterious suicide, but I could be remembering wrong.Adam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 7:58 amIf you're referring to the David Widlak death, he wasn't shot twice. Re: Jimmy Hoffa search in Hillsdale the other day
To begin with, it makes no sense that Northeast mob families would be given the task of whacking Hoffa, whose murder was likely sanctioned by the Mafia Commission since he was such a prominent national figure. He was an associate of the Detroit family. They could do it without raising Hoffa's suspicions. And too many things could go wrong with a plan involving a New Jersey hit team traveling to Detroit, killing Hoffa and then transporting his body 600 miles for burial in the Garden State.
Chucky O'Brien knows a lot more than he has led on. Tony Jack lured Hoffa to a supposed truce meeting. The evidence for that is a reminder note that Hoffa left on his desk. In addition, Hoffa told others about this meeting. Outside the Machus Red Fox restaurant, Hoffa was picked up, probably by Giacalone's brother Vito (Billy Jack), possibly with a few others. Billy Jack's presence would make sense to Hoffa since he was to meet with his brother.
Billy Jack's location that day has not been pinned down. Hoffa may have been killed in the car, or somewhere else. His body was most likely disposed of in the Detroit area. It was a very small group that greatly decreased the likelihood that an informer could learn of it, and rat to the Feds. All the Detroit characters are deceased now, thus there is little chance we will ever get a full account of the famous hit, let alone find Hoffa's body.

Yep Licata. I read it off mafia wiki so thats probably why the error. Do you have an article describing the suicide? I will post the excerpt below.Adam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 12:01 pmAh. On July 30, 1981, on the six year anniversary of Hoffa's disappearance and presumed death, Licata was found in his master bedroom killed by two gunshot wounds to the chest. It has been speculated that he was possibly killed because he knew a too much about the Hoffa disappearance. He was 56 years old. His murder has never been solved.

I have the worst luck trying to upload files, but the August 4th, 1981 article on the investigation has Licata shot once in the chest.
