He was the self described CFO of the Philly mob before he was indicted. Smart guy made a lot of money, he enjoyed to party and to show off his wealth. Doesn't sound like he handled prison so well.

Thanks for the update. Staino seemed like a pretty big player while Ligambi was around, and he was named as Ligambi’s possible acting underboss at one point. A lot has changed since Staino was indicted so it’ll be interesting to see how Staino will do on the streets now that he’s a free man.

I remember reading somewhere that he wrecked his health some years back with alcoholism.

Is alcoholism responsible for his health issues in prison though? During his trial he claimed he got involved with organized crime in the 90's after he became an alcoholic during a bad divorce, but all of this was behind him in 2013.

I can cause damage that continues to be an issue even after you stop drinking.

You can see him in the background in some of those 90’s videos when they were following Merlino all around . Did Merlino make him? If not who and when ? I think he became more of a power house when Uncle Joe became acting boss. I wonder how much power and what position he would of had if that whole 1999 Bust didn’t happen . There is a lot of made guys in his back yard now , he might have a small pie going home to. Who took over his south jersey crew ?

Speculation is he got made by Ligambi around 2004. He was ID'd before then by George Anastasia as an associate, though he seems to have had influence in the organisation due to his CFO comments around that time. He could've been made earlier but nothing really 'official' has come out about when he became a member.
