Cherry Hill Gambinos Question

The interesting thing about Carlo Gambino's son Tommy reportedly met more often with the Cherry Hill Gambinos after Big Paulie was killed is were they thinking about a counter strike to Gotti? Or was it they were just meeting to forge an alliance for their own protection. It doesn't look like Gotti ever considered killing the Gambinos, and it looks like Gotti ended up working together with all the Gambino relatives. He promoted John to Capo and Tommy ended up with a good position too. But who knows what they were thinking of after the hit , like this crazy move Gotti did what else is he going to do.

It can be confusing..... this is like a typical article.... this one from the LA Times.... notice how Francesco Gambino is described, it says, something like hes not actually a Gambino member, yet simultaneously leads a " Gambino Sicilian faction"....

Here's another one, this time a Spatola led ring..

( For the record, I counted at least 5 rings, the Riccardo Cefalu ring under Conte, The Cherry Hill group from 18 ave, Francesco Gambinos group with Simone Zito and Tony and Sal Mannino, Dominick Manninos Philly operation, and this Spatola operation.... I didnt evencount Gottis crew, and havent even gotten to Knickerbocker and the Bonnano connected people...)

Notice they describe them as being independent of the Pizza connection, but not unrelated? What does that even mean, lol... I dont think THEY even really knew how it fit together...

Rosario Spatola, who was Gambino's cousin who was the largest taxpayer in Sicily...did he become an informant? I see some italian language articles about him being a pentito but it could be another Spatola.

The informant was another Rosario Spatola, from Campobello di Mazara in the Trapani province.

I read that as meaning that the Pizza Connection was a separate distribution network in the US led by Sal Catalano, but prosecutors are refusing to say the Spatola case is unrelated because they likely know the suppliers back in Sicily are the same.
