Rizzitello was solid. Started off under Crazy Joe in Brooklyn.

Was there any made member in any of the west coast families that was born and raised out west, particularly in the town which their family was located? I don't think there was one.

I could easily live in Northern California just for the wine, food, and weather. Reminds me a lot of Italy. People are also disarmingly pleasant. I keep wondering "what the fuck are they up to being so nice for no reason".

I wonder whatever happened to Alfred Mauriello. He was back and forth between Vegas and LA for a few years then his kid ratted on him for arranging the Blitzstein murder. I'm assuming he died inside as he'd probably be in his late 80's now and there's nothing else on him I could find.

Some of the stories about the LA family trying to get a foothold in Vegas are hilarious.

One LA boss, I forget who but I'm thinking Licata, wanted to kill a casino owner in hopes that the rest would "fall into line". lol. Talk about having no clue how it worked.

I also like the story where Frattiano asks Benny Binion whatever happened to the casino that Dragna was supposed to be given a piece of, and Binion tells him that Dragna accepted a cash buyout instead that was worth far less than what his stake in the casino would have been.

With Peter and Carmen Milano (both privileged) educated guys being the powers in L.A. for a while just goes to show how terrible the organization was out there. Neither one of those fucks could hold a candle to their dad Tony and Uncle Frank, two of the most respected gangsters in the country.

Frank Bompensiero on wiretap talking about sharing a car with his daughter. He was a captain, and the defacto boss of San Diego. Imagine a New York captain having to let his daughter use his car for laundry and grocery shopping, etc. Most of the solid earners in LA came out of Mickey Cohen's outfit. You couldn't roll with him if you weren't bringing in cash. Cohen spent a lot of time in Cleveland too and was close to the older Milanos so the Cleveland connection to LA makes sense.

No doubt. Tony Milano was one of the earliest mafioso to get into labor racketeering, at one time, every major Local had a mob guy or connected guy in a powerful role. With Frank in Mexico and L.A., Tony spent many years out there, had a 2nd residence in Beverly Hills that he spent 6 months a year at and ran many of the motion picture unions through the Youngstown Warner Bros. Connection. Tony’s kids were spoiled brats and given everything which is why they were fuck ups. Tony and his brother Frank came from nothing in San Roberto, RC, Italy. Mickey Cohen was close to Tony as well as the Jewish boys from Cleveland, Moe Dalitz, Morris Kleinman, Louis Rothkopf, and Samuel Tucker.

Pre-Las Vegas, Cleveland had casino's in California, Kentucky, OH etc. Moe Dalitz was a genius...and probably the wealthiest gangster of all time.

I didn't follow L.A. other than knowing Tony DelSanter and Jimmy "The Weasel" Fratianno were childhood friends in Cleveland and was brought in to find some help with Danny Greene.
