I agree why charge a man who’s already doing life but on the flip side it kinda gave Persico Carte Blanche to order as many murders as he wanted. What did he have to lose?

Exactly. He has lived in so-called "country club" prisons since his incarceration, allowing capos and soldiers to frequently travel and confer with him during the Colombo conflict.

Do you have a list of which captains and soldiers visited him?

The feds have prosecuted plenty of in prison for life Aryan Brotherhood and Mexican Mafia members for operating their organizations from behind bars. The reason the feds prosecute them is so that they can get moved to ADX. If the feds prosecuted Persico for the hits he ordered behind bars he would’ve either gotten life at ADX or maybe even the death penalty.

I think they can move a person to ADX or another maximum prison if they want to, they can just give any reason and do it.

How does switching families in the mob work? What are some reasons a guy might switch families?

They call it fence jumping. A made guy has an unresolvable issue in his own family and reaches out to people he is close to in another family to intercede at a sitdown for his release and transfer.

Anyone know anything about Ciro Dapagio? Who is he and whats his story? I know he is tight with Jeff Canarsie so that raises red flags.

Speaking of switching families, I read in an fbi report that Paul Vario switched from the Bonannos to the Lucheses? Anyone have any more info on that?

We actually had a thread about that once. I believe he was just a associate, not made.
