What was the full story to his murder? I know he whacked Giuseppe Gambino, a made guy under John Gambino, but why did Oliveri kill him? Who’s crew was Oliveri with?

Oliveri wasnt made, the Gambino killing that got him in trouble was apparently a freak accident. I believe it was a fight between the two that resulted in Gambino falling down a flight of stairs, killing him. Oliveri's son was apparently involved in the fight as well.
Gravano testified that the 5 man hit team included himself, Joe Gambino, Lorenzo Mannino, Bobby "Cabert" Bassica & Ozzie Stantini- Bisaccia being the prime shooter. There is surveillance video of Gotti, Gravano, Joseph Gambino and Bisaccia meeting at the Ravenite the night before the murder. Stantini was made as a result, Cabert was bumped up to captain shortly thereafter.

Mannino, John & Joseph Gambino all plead guilty to this killing. Stantini & Bissacia were convicted

Correct. Bobby Cabert got life for this murder. Bobby rolled the dice at trial because he was already convicted in NJ State Court and got a ton of yrs. Also Bobby was closer to Gotti then the Gambino brothers and probably was persuaded to never please guilty. The refusal to cop plea deals was another in a long line of mistakes by Gotti.

I believe there were a couple crash cars. But Bobby is the one who shot him dead. Gotti personally picked Bobby as the shooter. Bobby shot him several time. The last shot was directly between the victims eyes.
