Re: Sonny Franzese
Sonny Franzese was not sent to prison until he was sentenced in 1970. Prior to that he was on bail and in 1968 was reportedly scouting the pornography business to get into peep shows and such. He was released in 1978, and the following year a NY Times article reported that he was allegedly serving as "acting boss" in July 1979 for Carmine Persico. In 1981, according to the NY Times, law enforcement disagreed on whether Carmine Persico or Sonny Franzese was the real boss.
In 1982, Franzese was busted on a probation violation. He served 1-2 years, I'm not sure exactly.
In 1991, Franzese was busted on another probation violation. This time I believe he served 2 years.
In 1996, Franzese was famously busted as he ate spinach soup in Long Island. He was busted for meeting with Colombo soldier William Russo (son of Andy Mush) and Louis Fenza (associate of Frank Leto), I believe.
In Nov. 2000, Franzese was busted for yet another probation violation and was sentenced to three years.
In May 2007, Franzese was busted for a probation violation for a third time based on an hour-long get-together he had at Marzullo Pastry Shop with other known wiseguys. That's when Sonny realized that his son John Jr. had flipped.
In June 2008, Franzese was indicted for extortion crimes along with Tommy Gioeli, Dino Calabro, and Michael Uvino.
In May 2010, Franzese was indicted for strip club extortions.

No worries Bert, I can't promise that I've covered everything from that timeframe but I believe that's all of the probation violation charges that made the papers.

Wise men listen and laugh, while fools talk.
Re: Sonny Franzese
If you read the article it states he was made in 1931 as a teenager, but wasn't recognized until two years later. I believe it states that his John gave that info, I believe.Dwalin2014 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 7:54 pmIf he was born in 1917, how could he be made in 1931, he was just 14?
I think I read he only served several years of the robbery conviction, not the whole 50 years, and was briefly sent back several times for parole violations.bert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 7:47 pmHe spent close to 50 years in prison, and got out after he was 100 after being sent back at age 97, I don't see how he beat the feds.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 5:48 pm Thanks for postin. Michael has said that his father was made around 1947. So that article is wrong.
There you have it, never printed before.
