Speculating who the new Gambino underboss will be

First I'm going to say Gene will not be considered, because of supervised release, and also the Gottis draw to much attention and heat. Mannino is the obvious choice, but I have a feeling it will be someone more under the radar. Maybe another member that worked under and closely with Cali. Someone that will closely match up with what Cali did and maybe worked with him in his businesses. Mannino, I believe is to well known by LE.

I think Mannino may already be the consigliere, just guesswork. Isn't Francesco Inzerillo said to be a capo close to Cali? Maybe he get's a bump, with the photo's felice posted and the info he gave about DiMaria being close to the Sicilians that wouldn't surprise me

It will be a Sicilian most likely. Gotti's don't have the power they had. Its gone Gene is on restrictions ..he can barely get to Supercuts for a quick snip without the feds knowing it.lol Jackie is getting up there in age and there has been a cancer rumor for sometime about Jackie D'Amico so he is out as well. It its not a Sicilian I would imagine JoJo Corrozzo perhaps. Also I think Nicky Corozzo get out next yr right?

Tore walked away sometime ago is the rumor. Lives in Naples FL and I think his wife has MS or something. There Bronx I believe its the Zip Brooklyn based guys who have power now in the family. So prob someone close to Greaseball and Frank one would think.

He doesn't get out for a year and won't come off paper for probably another year after that maybe more so I'd say that eliminates him. Playing this game of speculation I'd imagine a younger man gets the underboss spot to replace Cali and that'd be Mannino. Consigliere I see Lenny DiMaria, he's basically the same person as Nicky but he's liked by all and universally respected.

I don't believe that, given all the heat that's on the family, the boss - whether it be Dom, Mannino, whoever - will wanna pick somebody well-known to the feds. Frank Camuso has just spent the past year or two under an intense investigative probe and has been linked to various crimes. The feds have just been up Gene's ass and have probably already been authorized a wiretap or two, so I doubt it'll be any Gotti guys.

Nick Corozzo is in a low-security prison right now (Allenwood Low), which is the same prison which Mike Mancuso found it relatively easy to run the Bonanno crime family from through visits with family and thinly-coded letters. With that in mind, Corozzo could probably be pretty close to the streets if he wants to, and may or may not command sway in the family.

While the Zips are definitely a powerful force in the family, we cannot discount a lot of John Gotti's former comrades are in powerful positions in the family. Both Gurino Bros. are capos or higher, John Ambrosio an acting capo, Sal Franco a capo, JoJo Corozzo a capo, Funzi Sisca a capo, Tommy Cacciopoli a capo, Vinny Artuso a capo, Jackie D'Amico a free man, etc., etc.

I think it's important not to get ahead of ourselves when talking about the Gambino's Sicilian faction, and it's my uneducated belief that a lot of people are too caught up in the bandwagon that Zips are secretly running the whole show and they're the future of the mob. I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way, but from the outside it still looks like the former denizens of the Ravenite probably outnumber the Sicilians in terms of family membership, and almost undoubtedly still have power on the streets.
I don't know half as much about this as some other posters, but that's what I see.
