No. He was extremely wealthy, laundered all his drug money into legitimate successful businesses.

I think he just passed away sometime in 2018 . Guy was loaded !!! Extremely active I guess up until his last indictment in 2012 and was literally into everything at a very high level. Pittsburgh always interested me as they have nonstop High level Gambling etc. Arrests/ Indictments for years now even though the family is gone . I still dont believe that Liuna DIstrict Council run by Pecora and others isnt corrupted and kicking back to someone these days . I forget what DC it is again ? but its one of the largest in the country with half a million members and major influence ! I would think if they are Corrupt they would be with the Westside IMO . Who knows ?

I think he just passed away sometime in 2018 . Guy was loaded !!! Extremely active I guess up until his last indictment in 2012 and was literally into everything at a very high level. Pittsburgh always interested me as they have nonstop High level Gambling etc. Arrests/ Indictments for years now even though the family is gone . I still dont believe that Liuna DIstrict Council run by Pecora and others isnt corrupted and kicking back to someone these days . I forget what DC it is again ? but its one of the largest in the country with half a million members and major influence ! I would think if they are Corrupt they would be with the Westside IMO . Its the Laborers District Council of Western Pennsylvania. Local 1058 was put under oversight back in 2001 for its mob ties, and there haven't been any cases since then, but you still see names like Pecora, Laquatra, and Ameris running the local or on the DC executive board.

With no family left, there's nobody to kick up to. It's more a case of family members of deceased mob guys enjoying the positions and money they were given. And I doubt there is any connection to the Genovese family in New York.

Its the Laborers District Council of Western Pennsylvania. Local 1058 was put under oversight back in 2001 for its mob ties, and there haven't been any cases since then, but you still see names like Pecora, Laquatra, and Ameris running the local or on the DC executive board.

With no family left, there's nobody to kick up to. It's more a case of family members of deceased mob guys enjoying the positions and money they were given. And I doubt there is any connection to the Genovese family in New York.

Correct. John LaRocca Jr was VP with the union when it was being investigated back in the 80’s-90’s. LaRocca Sr sold a piece of commercial property to the DC Local 1058 for an amount that was almost 5 times the assessed value. LaRocca Sr grandson and Mike Genovese’s son are both with the Pittsburgh Post Gazette trick drivers union to this day. Majority of these Pittsburgh guys didn’t want this life for their kids so they set them up with cushy jobs through all of their former connections.

Correct, Genovese made 5 guys to replenish the ranks. Strollo flipped in the end and Porter began talking after serving 15 months into his 28 year sentence. In the end, drugs crippled Pittsburgh. But I agree with what you are saying

Jo Jo's brother,Charles aka. PK, was a Post Gazette driver. I think he was also a Union Steward for their drivers union.
