Steve mandell was on a wiretap a few years back asking vena for approval to kill a strip club owner and vena told him he didn’t wanna open a can of worms and he didn’t need the heat it would bring
Cool info, thanks. So this Mandell guy is one of Venas crew members or what?
I wouldn’t necessarily call him a member. He was always trying to ingratiate himself with the outfit and trying to be someone. Definitely a complete psycho suspected in numerous homicides including his own father who turned up dead in the trunk of a car and mandell benefited from it financially. Vena was smart enough to tell him no when he asked for permission to kill someone which it was weird he was even asked because the guy he wanted to kill wasn’t with anyone so it doesn’t seem outfit related

Thanks again man. Its interesting to hear that the Outfit still uses some of these psychos from the streets to an extent and somehow tries to control them. I wonder if they use these guys to spread fear and obtain contracts in the legit world?!

Btw whats your opinion on Venas decision on cancelling the hit? I mean couldve been possibly because he had interests in that area or maybe he suspected that the feds could connect him to the case because of association?
Do not be deceived, neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God - Corinthians 6:9-10

Also the 2010 murder of Norberto "The Bull" Velez, who was supposedly an associate of the GAC.

My guess as for why vena didn’t approve the hit is basically what he said he didn’t need the heat and he was 100% correct because that meeting where he was asked for his blessing was recorded by an informant. He hasn’t stayed out of jail this long by being stupid. A cop magnet like mandell who the feds had a hard on for since he got off death row and sued the fbi probably just seemed like a bad idea for vena to get involved with him. Of course this is just my speculation
