I find the difference in ages of proposed guys to become made men interesting. It seems like such a situation dictated by timing and circumstances.
Definitely. How well-respected your sponsor is, whether or not the books are open, prison sentences, your enemies, whose the boss - all of these things play a part in whether or not a guy gets inducted.

Also, the Revolvy article mentions Vincent Langella being a soldier. Not only is Vincent Langella dead, but he was never made.

Who was Vincent Langella?... his son you mean? He’s dead?? When and how Gohn? First I’ve heard that
Vincent ‘Fat Vinny’ Langella was a Colombo associate briefly involved in stock fraud and described by Larry Mazza as a fat slob who was not respected by his peers. He died in 2016; http://colonialfuneralhomes.frontrunner ... ituary.php
He was Jerry’s kid..... thanks for the info and confirmation

Yea after the Wikipedia connection I not only regretted posting but was also a bit embarrassed. I appreciate your points on proposed guys. I find this aspect of the life fascinating. In the franzese interviews I’ve watched he speaks on those exact topics. Especially your view point of whose the boss. Basically how it was better to be cordial and kind to other members because things change quickly, and a guy who is in the outhouse one day might be in the penthouse the next. But the age gaps, I feel that could cause negative connotations with others. I read somewhere Barney B was made at 20 or 21. Incredible. If you don’t mind I’m curious to know your view on things today?

I'm not quite sure what Revolvy is, but that's a copy and paste straight from wikipedia, complete with the footnotes.

Where was it you read this, I'd be interested to see it. In Donnie Brasco, Pistone identifies Langella and Little Allie Boy Persico as both being recently made around the time he was hanging out with Jilly Greco so that backs it up that they were made post-opening the books.

Scarpa and possibly others talked about Allie Persico (the brother, not son) being inducted around 1972 before the books officially re-opened. JD has since said that Persico was inducted by the Bufalino family and immediately transferred back to the Colombos to help run the family due to Carmine's incarceration. Langella was inducted after the books re-opened.

Especially impressive is the photo of Jimmy Angellino, the Colombo consig murdered after polling the captains before the 3rd war. We briefly discussed him recently on a different thread here, thats the first clear photo iv seen of him.

Where does he get the photos?
Some of the photos that pop up
in the Mugshot section seem like
they are taken on a family vacation.
