Infact the only evidence that he had a hand in the that murder was from hearsay from Russo. There is really no other evidence. Russo could have said Michael did anything really. There is no other evidence. This is becoming a very common thing for a judge to throw a higher sentence on a guy because they "feel" they are guilty of a crime they were never convicted of. Look at Mikey Coppola got 13yrs for labor racketeering because a judge "felt" he were guilty of a murder he was never convicted of. They only evidence in that case is Tommy Ricciardi said Mike told him he did it at a bar 30yrs ago. lol They get you in the end even if a jury finds you not guilty.. They judge can legally turn around and say I disagree with the jury I think you are guilty. So instead of sentencing you to 3-7yrs for Labor Racketeering. I am going to give you 13yrs because I think you actually committed that murder the jury cleared you of. "Irizarry ruled that the 37-to-46 months sentence called for by his plea agreement was inadequate because prosecutors had proved to her satisfaction that Michael, 60, was involved in the last murder of the bloody mob war that his long-imprisoned father had waged to maintain control over the Colombo crime family in the early 1990s" Hey Rocco , nice MC mention , when he comes home in 5-6 years how do you think he is treated ? Guy was a powerful dangerous man from my understanding but there was that rumor around about the FBI thinking he could be flipped. The west side has a few of these old timers but serious hitters back in the day and their murder cases LE rarely fingered who the triggger man was , some real small secretive teams doing major hits . Shoot Ricci was killed 10 Years ago and LE seems to put it on MC / TF , MC was on Americas most wanted LOL and I think some on LE felt it was an internal crew beef ? Their NJ crews have a Strong activity with some big crews out there - real sophisticated scams . I know Luchesse have a very big book + other but the west side runs shit and they have the extortion racket almost all to themselves amongst OC and the reputation to whack guys still and keep it pretty quiet, very impressive OC crews and I think they have big SJ betting action today . I think MC will be fine. That was LE putting it out there because he didn't cooperate. They tried to back him into a corner. Hes fine. If they thought he went bad his kids would not still be involved which they are to this day.. Also most of the his crew members are extremely loyal to him as they were to TF. They are still all over port Newark. Not like they used to be. But they still have a presence there. He thought he was looking at 3-5yrs on the labor racketeering. He was pissed when the judge hit him with the max 13.5yrs because she thought he was guilty of murder. He appealed but it was shot down. Its crazy that they can do that.

He is getting quite old and he does seem to be complaining about this so maybe he should..
